i have to agree it would be better to use the site your self $50 isnt much.
Also -'s dont really matter from my experience, doesnt harm your seo ranking and personally its easier to read.

Thanks for some feedback guys. Im not sure what to do. Im not using it as im focused on something else at the moment, so i thought it would be better to get some cash for it. I cancelled the hosting on the website about 2 months ago. It did have quite a few articles and stuff on it. It had been bookmarked a few times and currently has about 6 or 7 articles linking to it from ezines.

Hope thats the information that others were wishing to know. Obviously cancelling the hosting was a daft move but there you go....

I agree, having 2 dashes in a domain name is not good anymore. the more dash and the longer your domain name is not good for SEO.

I can't see why this would affect the seo. I was under the impression that the keywords were the main aspect of the seo, and since their present in the domain, dashes or not, i wouldn't have imagined this would have a negative impact.

Dashes are picked up and reported by search engines as spam, mainly because most spam sites use excessive dashes in their domain names, generally 1 dash is fine, but the more you have, the harder it is to rank as high in the serps

No offence mate, but that sounds like a load of crap.Thats like saying google picks up .info domains as spam because most spam sites use .info's. If thats the case, you shouldnt be allowed to have dashes in your domain and you shouldnt be able to buy .info's.

Maybe im wrong, but i can't see the logic, then again, that wouldnt be hard with Google.

Once this got posted, alot of spammy sites QUICKLY came up on the net and started to rank quite well. It was middle of 2008 that google implemented a change (this is what i believe from things i have read and experienced. I honestly have no proof however to say 100% this is whats happening ). The change was to look at the main domain name dashes, and any subsequent dashes in the direct URL string. Each time there was a dash there was a slight increase in penalties. So having 1 dash is ok i guess, 2 aint awful, 3 - your just shooting yourself in the foot, 4 yours probably sandboxed for spam site

It is not worthing 50$. You wont sell it for more than 15$. Why? Because nobody likes those - -.
But if this is for autoblog or something, it works better. If you want to build a site that you expect people will want to come back to the site, the domain is worthless.

Three things -
1. Who gives a shit what Matt Cutts Says!
2. I have plenty of domains with plenty of dashes and have never seen any ill effects from it.

Of course I can only speak for Google, not other search engines. If you not doing anything or planning to do on this domain then you are getting decent deal and i will suggest you to take it... In my point of view it should not attract more then 15 bucks...

Site got no value only thing is your domain which is OK kind not something good... It's not ranking, got only few pages indexed and very few backlinks...
