While relocating the web/DB server, access to the site was not smooth for about 5~10days.
This was 3-4 months ago.

And you remove backlinks? Aren't backlinks placed on external websites?
So a Google update and then you build more signals (i understand this as improving your website). So why are you so sure its about backlinks?

Maybe you are interested in reading my thread about trying to mislead a dead cat. In this thread i clearly explain why Google is not interested in using backlinks as a ranking factor. And also why everybody here on BHW thinks it is.

This is just my opinion based on what I have seen. Only those who directly work with and develop the algorithm can know one hundred percent about it. I am alas not one of them. But I would love to read your thread. In this day and age, it's better to know more than less

I run a website in a highly competitive niche.

I made various backlinks including BH, WH, etc., but a few months ago the site went down for a few days and my site's ranking dropped significantly.
Since then, I have consistently worked on backlinks, and the number of organic kws terms has increased.

However, my site rarely reaches the top 10 rankings, and it feels like it's slowly dying.
Meanwhile, I see competitors with new domains and fewer backlinks outranking me.

In fact, with my many years of SEO experience, most of the affected sites come from backlinks. As for new websites that do not have high authority, their websites are still in the sandbox by default.
