We all gotta start somewhere......

An affiliate is someone that markets a product, offer or membership, etc. on behalf of a company or network. They are generally paid a flat amount or percentage for directing the buyer to the offer or sale.

Networks or companies will give you an affiliate id to use in your links so they can identify that you are the one responsible for bringing the customer to them.

Cloaking is a technique used to hide or disguise your affiliate link so the customer does not know they are not dealing directly with the company. Often a short url is used for this.
