Hi Guys,
I'm planning to switch my website's domain from .io to .ai. Currently my site's DR is 70. If I make this change, will my DR remain the same for the new domain? What other SEO impacts should I expect?

Switching your domain from .io to .ai will impact your SEO, but if you follow the right steps, you can keep most of your authority and rankings. Your Domain Rating (DR) won’t transfer automatically, but you can minimize the loss by setting up 301 redirects from the old domain to the new one, updating Google Search Console with the Change of Address tool, and asking websites that link to you to update their backlinks. Also, make sure to update all internal links and monitor your rankings and traffic in the following months. A small drop in rankings is normal, but your site should recover if you do everything correctly.

make all of the necessary 301 redirections and you should be good.

There is a rule that you can use in your site's htaccess file that redirects EVERYTHING automatically, it's just 1 or 2 lines of code, but I don't know it, so look it up in google... or maybe even here in the forum, I think I've seen it mentioned last year...

And also make sure to redirect the HTTP/S part too as that's also important, otherwise you might lose authority and - implicitly - rankings....

But yeah, if you get the 301s right you should be able to migrate without any traffic / rankings / authority loss...

.Jo is a ccTLD (national top-level domain), which means that Google probably associates it with Jordan. By switching to . ai (which is an Anguilla CCTLD but often treated as a gTLD), your site could lose this geolocated advantage if you specifically targeted Jordan. If you're targeting an international audience, it could be an advantage.
