What's up guys. I recently launched a website for my EMS education business. My main goal is to outrank local competitors. I’ve added a blog where I plan to post 1–2 very high-quality articles (Gold for my website; Silver for guest blogs) per week. These articles will offer unique insights about my general niche and my specific niche that you can’t find elsewhere online. My competition mainly consists of outdated, low-quality websites.

I want to focus on providing high-quality content on my site, while offering decent (but not necessarily unique) content for guest posts. However, as a small business, I’m facing a couple of challenges:

  1. Guest Posts & Links:
I’m looking for ways to secure guest posts and backlinks from high-authority (high DA) websites without spending a lot of money. So far, most options either cost too much or are of low quality (Fiverr, for example).
  2. Local Directories:
I’m trying to get more backlinks from local directories and citations, but many of these links are “no follow,” which doesn’t help my rankings. If anyone knows of free, high-DA directories that offer “do follow” links, please share.
In addition to these, I’m building my brand on social media and have set up a Google My Business profile. I plan to add 3–6 reviews per week and aim for about 5 directory/citation links and 2 guest blogging links weekly, specifically on sites related to EMS or first responder news.

Even though my website (only a week old) is ranking on the first page for very specific keywords, it’s still on page 3 for broader, local searches. I’m also working on building my domain authority (DA) so my quality content can rank better.

Questions:
  1. Is my strategy solid, and could I see first-page rankings in 2–3 months?
  2. Any improvements or tips—especially for automating (paying for service) guest blog outreach?

Thats were it will probably stay for a long while. Its not easy to see rankings wherever you want, they are a result of the google algoryhm. However, just assume that if people could put the same amount of effort in as you've done for a few weeks and suddenly rank 1st page for big relevant keywords the top 10 search results would look very different.

Just concentrate on your content first, so you have lots. Articles, images, videos, audio. THEN you can do some promotion yourself, while people find you naturally from that, and link to you, without any time wasting searching for backlinks guest posts opportunities. When you see one that is relevant you'll know.

I have sites that are 5-10+ years old, so do most of the top 10 serps. You honestly in your heart of hearts, or head of heads, think you can just spend a week, and get ahead of them with a couple of smart backlinks? lol

Keep working.

Should I even focus my efforts towards organic guest posts/ should I just pay someone/ or should I just leave it alone and continue providing value on my website

Wouldn't waste any time on it if your sites new. You don't have the credentials. Once you get established and you been around for a while people tend to link to you, because they were a previous visitor. Once you have a site that's getting organic traffic after you put in internal SEO work, then you can dedicate a small amount of time to off page SEO and marketing. Thats all. There isn't so much a magic formula, just a common sense formula. Guest posts are easier the better and older your site is compared to the rest.

Common sense tells you if you have an established site that is earning revenue after a few years, and someone suddenly messages you about a guest post on their month old site, and with 10 articles, that looks unfinished, and not attractive. You probably won't even reply to the person to say no thanks. Thats the position you don't want to be in. You'll find there is plenty opportunity in doing stuff on socials, such as youtube and reddit, to get your name out there in the beginning for free.
