atspace.com provides 50 mb free webspace
000webhost provides 1.5 gb space, again their reputation sucks. been hearing a lot of problems.
awardspace provides 200 mb space, havent used it and heard nothing about it.
There is no problem in trying out yourself.

the best one should be the unpopular one.. because if a free host bacomes popular, their srvers become saturated, buggy and unstable.. normally those unpopular ones are found on hosting forums or seo forums posting ads on BST section.. some offer with free cpanel (tried once, fulfilling at first but on the 2nd month, it was a disaster, they dont last long based from my experience since cpanel is a hot shot) so pick one with even a free panel, free is the best thing here
