ok.. I was working as a developer for this small so called firm. They really knew what they where doing. I mean I was just setup from the beginning now that I think about it. I was going to get paid so much each week and then once again when the project was completed. The weekly checks where coming and going through. But then at the end of the project I was thanked, left and never got my last two weeks either. I worked day and night. monday tuesday wedensday thursday friday saturday sunday day and night if I wasn't sleeping trust me I was working!! FOR TWO MONTHS STRAIGHT LIKE THIS!!!

I have tried talking to these people calmly. I never once said anything bad or raised my voice. The only thing I said calmly was I am upset please give me my money. And they still haven't and still won't. They hang up the phones on me, don't return my emails, I have tried to go up there and meet with them and they tell me to get out or they will call the police. Actually the one time the police made me leave.

Heres what I have - ( they don't know I have this )
I have been screwed before on other projects just never nothing like this.. so I did do a little digging around before I got there.

Access to there systems -
Information about projects and people that they lied to - ( this includes government, yes believe it or not they lied to the government. because they messed up and also to make more money)
Checking account numbers
Driver Licenses / credit card numbers.
Keys / Access codes to get into the buildings

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO I AM HURTING SO BAD!! PLEASE ANYONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE!! I do not want to hurt the company because there are a few good people that work for them.

do you have a contract you had with them? That would be best

Back up everything you have access too, write up a report that you will send to the FTC, send them a letter letting them know half of what you have and you will settle for something you are comfortable with.

OR

Back it all up, copy the business run it yourself.

OR

Back it up, FTC report, report to the FBI, sue in court.

Last thing you want to do is tamper with anything and sabotage it. But if you have the info, take it, copy it. Maybe a temp lockout of there systems and then option #1

But, back up everything.

If you can't resolve it, fuck over the company in every way possible. Some will say you should just take the lesson and move on, don't do this, fuck them over. ONLY if you can't get your money though.

It would help when people post stuff like this if you'd say what country you're living in. If you're in the US, my questions would be:
Did you have a contract to perform this work at a specific rate?
Do you have canceled checks to show that you've been paid for X amount of work?

You're saying you got screwed out of $30k and then in your posting you said they didn't pay you for the final 2 weeks. So you were making $15k per week? That sounds like a hella lot of money regardless of what you were doing.
Call the labor board, call an attorney, don't waste your fucking time with trying to 'get back" at them. These are childish, knee-jerk reactions which 99% of people have never done but are quick to suggest. Trust me, you'll only fuck yourself more.

That doesnt sounds good at all. Do you have money for a lawyer? That is your first option. The lawyer will surely tell you what to do. And yes, do you have a contract?

Anything you do right now besides talking to a lawyer will only harm you and your case.

Maybe you could work with someone, how did the people contact you. Get them to contact a person you know. Obviously they can't know you two know eachother. Then they will try to scam your friend but this time you can document everything & sue them.

I did have a contract. I have met with a few lawyers. But I was told I would be lucky enough to come out with 10% at the end, with the lawyer fees, court fees, and with how the wrote the contract. I live in the united States. And to make things worse I was suppose to do work with them for the next 2 years. sooooo finding work asap has been a bit hard. all I have been able to find is crap jobs that pay like nothing.. They really got me good. So even if i get a lawyer I really don't have the money either to afford it.

I was working in the usa and it came out to so much per hour in the contract, but the contract was loopy, and it was 2 months.

Getting a job with this place is really hard. Plus I really don't know anyone local that I could trust enough.

well you you still have log in to the system. I would just log back in and take down the project that you were working on. They have not paid so they should not have the finial project.

simple as that. Take it back down and they will pay to get it back up. I would make them pay more since you had to hold out for this one.

Or you could go to a lawyer and go that directions.

You should have had some kind of killswitch there if they fuck you over you could shut down whole thing. Though no idea what kind of stuff your project included

If you don't have one.. just buff that you do. :) I did this once with someone who screwed me over in a network job. I told one of the employees afterwards that I implanted a virus within the server that if I don't access within 3 days, will erase the entire network. The next day they had someone in there redoing everything. MOO HA HA! :)

I didn't get my money out it, but at least they didn't either.

sounds like u got fucked real bad. wasnt there a contract in the first place?
