Hello,

I know that you guys here will have a very good understanding of Instagram and you have tried a bunch of different things when it comes to posting on Instagram. I just wanted to ask if anybody here has seen a difference in the device they are posting at. I know a lot of people have been telling that iphones do a lot better than androids but there is another question at hand. Are the latest iphone models doing better than the old ones?

I have seen people mentioning that using Iphone 16 gets them viral a lot quicker than Iphone 11 for example and its a variable which is kinda tough to test out based on the price tag of the newer Iphone models. Has anyone here tried using the latest Iphone models and did that make a difference?

Tbh, device models would make a negligible difference, focus on the content quality and hooks etc. Which amounts for the 98% part.

I don't think it matters what device are you using, the only difference it's the quality of the uploads, like photos, and nothing else. Just post on whatever device, it doesn't make any difference

Old and new devices are perfect for uploading or managing Instagram, there is no difference in operating Instagram with any devices.

Okay, the thing is actually I have seen many people say that Iphone is better than android. Taking that into consideration and the fact that Instagram can actually track your device model wouldn't make sense that a newer Iphone model would give me a slight advantage on the algorithm? I have also witnessed this as well. I have 5 Iphone 11 Pros for posting and one Iphone 13. I should mention that I am posting the same content repurposed. My accounts on the Iphone 13 are doing A LOT better than the ones on the Iphone 11s that is the reason I am very skeptical about it.

No, there are no difference in devices themselves. However, new devices can provide better video quality (HDR, high frame rate), which indirectly affects engagement.

If I am uploading the exact same video which was exported from capcut on a new and an old Iphone model, does the model make a difference in the quality of the upload or nah?

In this exact case I think it won't make any difference

The iPhone has a 10%-15% increase in account creation but on management the d8fference is neglijable.

the device doesn't matter, you just need to create catchy content and that's it

You can good proxy to post or use anti detect browsers

The fact that your accounts on the Iphone 13 are doing a lot better than the ones on the Iphone 11s doesn't mean that the device makes the difference. It could be very random.

The device model may also be important, but the most important thing is the quality of content, this is where you can make a difference.

Device doesn't makes any difference, it's all about the quality content.

From what most people see, it’s not really about iPhone 16 vs iPhone 11, Instagram mainly cares about content quality, engagement, and account history. Some think newer iPhones help because of better camera quality, but the algorithm itself doesn’t push you more just for using a newer model.

Tbh, I think the whole iPhone vs Android thing is mostly about camera quality, not IG favoring one device. Newer iPhones just give sharper videos, which can help with engagement, but it’s not like using an iPhone 16 automatically makes you go viral compared to an iPhone 11.

The device itself isn’t what makes content go viral. Instagram cares more about engagement signals, watch time, and how fast people interact.

It must factor into certain considerations but in terms reach, I highly doubt it. A lot of other, more substantial factors affect that.

I went over this with another user before; that bein said, the reason why Iphone get a slightly higher chance of going viral is because they allow you to record in a format that shows up as higher quality on their platform. Those videos get pushed more to the explore page since Instagram can detect the video format is higher quality compared to other posts.
