Hello , Im running a content hub and some of the articles are ranked 2 , 4 .... but i get no traffic !
Here's an Example :
Screenshot_1.png

For this two articles are ranked in 5th and 7th place in SERP , When i check in semrush there's no keywords are ranked for this two articles but the article is ranked in SERP . I need explanation for this .

Are you sure the keywords have search demand in the first place?

Are people search for them?
yes im targgeting low kd and this is the keyword i used

1) do the main keywords of the 2 articles even have search volume?
2) Semrush might be slow in updating the stats
yes the main keyword has a search volume

hmm... 320 is not a lot of traffic, but I'd wager you should have still gotten some clicks.

So, it's either Semrush have not updated the stats yet, or... maybe other things I can think of...

1) are you seeing clicks / impressions for these pages in your GSC?

2) did you log out of your google accounts before checking the rankings? Better yet, use a professional tracking service as google are notorious for serving you personalized results

3) did you check where you rank on both mobile and desktop devices, and also whether you've received any clicks / impressions on both of these devices?

I'm really curious to see what GSC shows about these 2 pages in terms of clicks and impressions, so if you could post a screenshot of that it would be great.

Also, it's not a good idea to make your keywords and sites visible on SEO forums, lots of bad things could happen to your site, so remove / blur out those details if you can

everything seems normal to me, I don't think there's a problem with your pages...

The search volume of keywords is almost always split between the top 10 ranking pages, with the the top 3 getting the bulk of the traffic, which is why it's important to rank 1-3 for a keyword if you can.

So, your page getting only a few clicks and impressions from ranking #5 is normal for a keyword with low search volume. If you can push that page into top 3 your traffic should increase. That's one thing...

The 2nd thing I can think of is that google sends the traffic to whoever they want. You might hear people say "nah, if you optimize and build links and blah blah blah you're going to get traffic" but I've seen pages (in multiple niches even) that were ranking #9 or #4, or whatever (not in top 3 that is), that were getting 16k clicks for a keyword that had only 50 search volume in Ahrefs :D

And the worst part is that those pages were not even good, they only had 100-150 words of text and a few links to other pages / sites on their pages, but they ranked because they belonged to universities, or to WebMd etc... Google really does reward authority sites sometimes, and if that's the case for your niche then I don't think there's anything you can do about it as google specifically refuses to give you traffic.

But still, that keyword doesn't have a lot of traffic so try to rank in top 3 first, and if that doesn't bring you more clicks you can assume that you're being screwed by google...

And seriously, use a dedicated rank tracker as google really does show you what you want to see, or what they want you to see most of the time. But with a dedicated SERP tracker you can see where you actually rank in google...

it means that, this keyword has no search volume. you need to search some high value keywords to include in your content, like in heading, description, image's caption, too, thanks.

Hard to tell without knowing the language yours is in.

Ranking your website on search engines without traffic is definitely a tough challenge, but it’s possible! The key to ranking high in search results is not just about having traffic but ensuring your content, structure, and SEO strategies are sound from the start.

Wrong.
High in SERP but no visitors means low volume and no competition. So easy to rank.

You are not on top 3 and the keywords volume also not even that high, + the third party tools not provide exact accurate numbers, so those might be the reasons

If your articles are ranking on Google but you’re getting no traffic, there are several possible explanations. One common reason is that the keywords your articles are ranking for have very low or even zero search volume. If no one is searching for those terms, then even a high ranking won’t generate clicks. Checking Google Search Console can help confirm which queries are bringing impressions.

Another issue could be poor click-through rates. If your title and meta description aren’t compelling enough, users might scroll past your result in favor of competitors. Optimizing these elements to be more engaging and curiosity-driven can improve traffic.

Search intent mismatch is another possibility. If your content doesn’t fully satisfy what users are looking for, even a high-ranking page won’t attract clicks. Analyzing top-ranking competitors and adjusting your content accordingly can help bridge this gap.

Google’s featured snippets and direct answer boxes can also impact traffic. If Google provides the answer directly in the search results, users might get the information they need without clicking on any link.

It’s also possible that your article was temporarily boosted in rankings but hasn’t stabilized yet. This can happen when Google initially tests new content before recalibrating its rankings. If SEMrush isn’t detecting any keyword rankings, it could be that your article is ranking for very specific or long-tail queries that aren’t included in SEMrush’s keyword database.

The best next steps would be to analyze Google Search Console for actual keyword rankings, improve your title and meta description for better CTR, ensure your content aligns with search intent, and check if search volume exists for the queries your articles are ranking for. If there’s still no traffic, optimizing for new, high-intent keywords may be necessary.

How could this happen? your pages ranked one but no traffic! strange. But I will suggest you wait for a couple of weeks to observe the actual scenario.
