By new proxy do you mean buying entirely new proxy or just rotating the proxy so it changes the IP?

I recently decided to make myself a personal Reddit account for personal use as I actually didn't have one. I used my regular home internet connection (static IP from the biggest ISP here) and a brand new device. I did this as regular Joe white hat as possible as I just wanted to join some subs on topics I'm interested and maybe comment from time to time if I have something to add to the discussion. And I just got shadow banned from the get go. They have tightened the screws so much that it might be impossible for many regular people to register and use new accounts normally. They are trying to catch spam so hard, they are getting a lot of false positives and shadow banning new people left and right. But this cannot stay that way and they will soon realize they are overdoing it.

By new proxy do you mean buying entirely new proxy or just rotating the proxy so it changes the IP?

You need a new IP address that will not be associated with the blocked account.

I successfullly created a new Reddit account on my mobile phone a few days ago without any problem, there are some people who just want to start commenting links and flooding subreddits as soon as possible, not the right approach after buying an aged Reddit account without recent activity

I'm not in any rush to personally get on Reddit. I was only going to use it to kill some time when bored and see if it can be a good source of info and fun. There are better uses of my time anyway. If it was important for me, I would have figured it out. It was just an interesting turn of events.

Even buying a reddit account with recent activity got me banned. I guess it has something to do with change of login location too. Plus they know we are using proxies as very few users will use a desktop computer connected to hotspot on a mobile (which is essentialy what we are doing when using anti-detect browsers on mobile proxies)

Especially proxies and VPNs, this is a major red flag and they are clearly targetting this kind of user

Not always, even normal accounts of regular users suffer. It's just a glitch in the reddit algorithms

In 4 months, Reddit has already done 2 account purges, wiping out everything possible. Who says there won't be a third one?

I'm not sure that's the case. I think they are casting a much wider "ban" net and it's not about proxies and VPN. That's why I shared that I got the shadow ban for a brand new account that's organic in every way - no proxies, the IP had never been used for reddit and comes from the country's biggest ISP, legit device and so on. I went slow and so on, but it still happened. That's why I believe that they have built an overzealous algo that dishes out bans way too easily.

yep, they always do some house cleaning but the more people abuse, ultra spam and are not careful they will always try to find new methods to stopp people but is to learn, recover and start again.

Just a short update from me. I went back to check on the account today and the shadow ban has been lifted. I guess it's a very short shadow ban, but maybe many people registering accounts abandon them right away. So maybe if you get shadow banned, just give it a few days and check back.

Create a new reddit account on a new device, change the IP address and use a clean proxy. This should solve the problem.

Just a short update from me. I went back to check on the account today and the shadow ban has been lifted. I guess it's a very short shadow ban, but maybe many people registering accounts abandon them right away. So maybe if you get shadow banned, just give it a few days and check back.

it means reddit has been overzealous in thier banning, probably set thier evasion, spam filters too high, probably depends if you been suspended, or sitewide banned before too. i deleted all the accts that were retroactively banned from originated(probably) from a temp ban.
