Godaddy or GoSketchy?

GoDaddy is absolutely terrible. I spent a fortune building my brand, only to find out that the domain I checked yesterday—available for under $20—is now up for auction for over $1,000. It almost feels like they registered it just to profit off me.


I’m not sure, but it seems extremely sketchy. It’s not even a generic word that anyone would randomly use—it’s a local name, and I highly doubt someone just happened to purchase it the day after my search. Am I overthinking this?

That's frustrating! It does sound pretty shady. I'd be annoyed too if the price jumped that drastically overnight. Have you tried reaching out to GoDaddy's support about it?

From what i have just read online it's their common practice and it's just a dead end but i'll give it a try.

Now you know never use godaddy. I haven't used it for a while. It has a domain acution part of its operations. It's one of the biggest. They might have just stolen you domain.

You never complain you never say you leave a negative review. You gotta control yourself buddy. If you want to leave negative comment you do it without telling them. Obviously they with ban you if tell them.
