Why were there so many reddit bans today?

In short, today there was a big algorithm update on reddit that affected a huge number of accounts, even regular real users.
Just a friendly reminder that everyone is banned now, the only exception is old accounts that have been maintained for a long time. The problem is not you.
I've contacted several teams of redditors who run over 20 models - all of whom have a large number of bans.
Yesterday I came across a vacancy for a Redditor at an agency: the duties and payment conditions are standard, but at the bottom there was a note "we are looking for a person who works without constant bans and excuses."
The agency also positions itself as professionals in the field of reddit and previously sold training on it

Question: How can professionals not be aware of the situation on reddit? It is enough to look at the statistics to assess the situation.
I don't recommend that redditors work with agencies that are incompetent in these areas - they are likely to be incompetent in other areas as well.

Don't panic, just start working on new accounts. Everything will be fine.

My accounts were almost unaffected. I'm talking about the whole situation on reddit

im a regular user, and numerous of my other accounts were also caught in the crossfire. 2 of them were older than 5+years(never commented since those 5 years). just had a recent one that was temp banned(accidentally deleted) and thats how i think it triggered the others(as well as a perma banned acc i deleted more than a year prior) i had the current acc that were immediately banned with no other message(than permanent suspended). and a semi-new account that i let sit since last early dec also recieved it.

i think some at least indiscriminate banning as well as targeting botters, evaders going on. at least one of my account got the "permament suspended" but when i checked on the appeal page it said the account wasnt suspended or locked, but still recieved the perma ban message inbox? they definitely are retroactively banning any accs that are similar. i dont think old accts are safe either(especially if it has been inactive for so long i suspect).

i think certain privileged accts are immune, like famous celebreties who often appear right around when political tensions are high, eg current Potus/election.
i made many acc for regular use, because i caught my first ban years before the pandemic, so ive been using ones solely for specific subreddit, and ignore the ones i got banned it, it was still caught in the ban wave. i think reddit is now looking at older accts that escaped a ban of another account, even if your newer accounts havnt interacted with subs that were banned in

This agency is dumb lol, reddits algo has gotten very good. Reddit most likely targeted accounts that seem like karma farmed accts.
