How I Leveraged Stackline/Atlas for a Complete Market Share Analysis on Amazon

As part of my recent project, I was tasked with generating a comprehensive market share report for a specific keyword on Amazon. Here's a step-by-step breakdown of the process I used, and the powerful insights we gained using Stackline/Atlas:

1️⃣ Create a Segment with the Keyword
I started by creating a custom segment in Stackline/Atlas using the keyword related to the brand's products. I made sure to include the keyword phrase to ensure the data was relevant. Once that was set up, I confirmed the correct category and subcategories, and proceeded to run the report. ️

2️⃣ Export Data for Full Historical Insight
While the graphs generated by the platform were insightful, they didn't tell the whole story. So, I exported data for the last two years (2023 & 2024) to get a complete view of the YoY growth and market share changes.

3️⃣ Focused on Key Reports for a Detailed Market Share Analysis
The next step was diving into the critical reports:

  • Retail Sales by Brand: Analyzing how each brand performed in terms of sales volume and market share.
  • Units Sold by Brand: Comparing sales volume and market share for both 2023 and 2024.
  • Average Retail Price: Identifying price growth trends for the brand versus the broader market.
4️⃣ Traffic and Ad Insights
I also looked into the traffic reports to understand paid vs. organic traffic and ad spend. Key data like Paid Traffic Growth, Organic Traffic Growth, and Paid Ad Spend helped us measure where the brand stood in terms of visibility and competition.

5️⃣ Comprehensive Market Share Breakdown
With all the insights, we were able to clearly see the brand's position in the market, confirm where there’s potential for growth, and estimate the investment needed to reach the top 3 brands in the segment.

Key Takeaway: Understanding your brand’s position relative to others using Stackline/Atlas is crucial for making informed, data-driven decisions about advertising spend and market growth.

If you need help navigating Stackline/Atlas or want assistance in generating your market share report, feel free to send me a direct message! I'm here to help you gain competitive intelligence and take your brand to the next level.
