We just finished our New Year holidays, during which we had to drive 500KM back to our hometown to celebrate the New Year.
In the meantime we received a month's trial access, not full self-driving, but including automatic parking, cruise control and summoning the vehicle.
I tested it for a while, but to be honest I didn't trust the so-called machines and algorithms and I was more nervous than usual, even gripping the steering wheel tightly. This resulted in my hands being swollen and sore at the end of the drive.
I see it all the time when people enable autopilot on motorways and the driver is sleeping, watching a film...
Would you trust science? Or trust yourself?

I found a picture on the internet where you can see that each item on the road is marked with a different colour.
The premise of the algorithm is that it requires information gathering and labelling.
In the past I was in this business, first of all our employees would drive on different roads in special vehicles. The cars would then record video of the roads and then take it to the company to convert the video into pictures.
The pictures were then imported into Photoshop-like software and labelled by another department. The normal A requirement for us is 99% correctness and 1 pixel fit.
These are fine, but the price per box labelled is $0.01,our employee needs to label 2000 correct boxes per day to be enough to start his salary, yes only to meet his salary, but in line with the correctness and accuracy, a normal person can only produce 1200 valid boxes per day.
If our staff can't reach 1,200 correct frames per day, then we are in a loss position, even if we meet the 1,200, we are still losing money.
So we have to hire cheaply paid employees, interns from low level universities. But they only work for internships. They don't care if the job goes well or not, just to have an internship certificate when they graduate.
Predictably, the end result, despite the strict quality inspectors, was based on deadline pressures etc... In the end the QC staff had to compromise on quality... So that's why I don't trust assisted driving. And give up my previous job.
