originally intended to post this as reply in one topic but my rant just got so long I think this deserves topic of its own. I am not the best writer, but I am sure this will hit home for some of you.
stop wasting your time with finding "money making method" and focus on building REAL VALUE to the client. Money will come once you are expert in your niche and solve something for the client. IMO it's important to be at least partly passionate with what you do; otherwise it's gonna be tough to keep up with it when first issues start in your line of work. It's cliche and sure you heard it all the time but it's true. Now what I am going to explain here is so obvious but I wish someone explained me.
Imagine yourself as an ordinary guy working with spamming content lockers on YouTube, SEO or whatever. Doing the same thing like 1000 other affiliates do. I did this back in the day, and I am sure up to this day there are people doing the same. You make some quick money there, but guess what. You are not really building anything of a value. You get paid once, user leaves forever. You are not even building an email list in the meantime. You rank your sites, make pretty good money but eventually they fall off and your income is gone. You are not even gaining real skills. All you are doing is duping people of their time at best, and of their money at worst when they subscribe with card to the offer. This applies to ANY aff marketing really where you aren't building anything of value and user is gone after first interaction, never to come back. You get paid single comissions and it's over. No recurring value. All in all, as far as your skills go you know little bit of this, little bit of that, jack of all trades master of none.
Now imagine yourself actually becoming expert in some niche and actually solving something for client. You keep building up your reputation. Your skillset keeps growing. The clients keep raving about the work you do. You get more and more happy clients. Eventually you don't even need to look for new clients, as you got plenty from word of mouth because you are that great at what you do. You don't give a fuck about depending on search engines, about your traffic dying out, about algorithms changing or whatever. You are immune to that. You actually have a REAL business. You feel great every day, because you are actually doing something purposeful. At this point you can call yourself entrepreneur. Because you are one.
Be honest with yourself, misleading people with false hopes and pushing other produced products is some goofy school kid shit. You are just a spammer looking for a quick buck targeting desperate. You can't even launch your own product. You are no different than those working 9 to 5. Enslaved by big brands like Amazon increasing their company value, while shooting yourself in the leg at the same time. Why you are not building your own ecommerce brand? What's your excuse?
2 years passes by. What kind of progress guy in situation #1 did? Likely not much. Sure, by that time you probably built some passive income for yourself but nothing extraordinary. You are good at convincing people completing offers, but what skills you learnt? Not much. You are just good at loading people with false hopes and making them waste their time. You know how to setup websites or make pretty cool video. But let's be real. There are plenty school kids having exactly the same skillset you do. One algorythm update and you are fucked. The guy realizes he wasted 2 years and he actually gone nowhere. The only well rewarded party here is those owning the offers. They gonna keep milking the data you gave them for a long time. They won, you lost. You're just a little pawn in a big game doing the most pushing and getting the least.
Don't even waste your time where you are not the one pulling the strings. More than likely you will end up with nothing spectacular, having wasted so much time which is gone forever wishing you did things different.
Be wise guys and spend your time doing what actually matters. Let me tell as someone who signed up here in 2012. Time flies by. The IM is getting harder and harder every day, that is true. You need more and more capital to spam and it's getting absolutely harder, everywhere. Anyone who been for a while will tell you the same thing. AI lowered entry barrier creating insane competition. You are now competing with hundreds of guys instead of 10. Everyone ends up getting less and less, while doing more. The way things are going, the end consumer is reaping all the benefits, and you as a marketer keep making less while your output is better than ever before. Important to understand this, and that trend is only going to accelerate going forward. Time is surely running out. Makes sense?
Be smart and just get into any industry you see yourself becoming at very least top 10% over time and start working your way up by learning everything in and out and providing value. You will thank yourself and wish you took this decision way earlier. You won't be afraid of AI replacing you and feel no need to be on the look out for new ways to game the system. You will live financially and worry free. You have great cashflow, that means you have tons of opportunities to invest money and make even more money.
I repeat, time flies by super fast. No other way to make big bucks unless you get insanely lucky. So ask yourself, is what I am doing has future or I am just playing with myself not seeing the big picture. AI will only get better - every day you are getting closer to being irrelevant. Don't get left behind.
Crypto for some of you seems like short cut way, and for sure it can be if you play your cards right. It won't be for most, most gains been already made buying pre covid. Lots crypto investors are just gambling addicts who like to pretend being investors. Because everyone is larping as a investoor in bull market. If that's your thing great, but don't let shiny things cloud your long term vision. You can make millions trading crypto, but so you can make millions creating your own product and getting army of affiliates working for you. One thing is timeless, other is based on bubble. Why are you not doing this already? Either do this or build your personal brand. The only sure ways to not get left behind and actually build the career out of this "Internet Marketing" thing if you are serious about making it. Just my 2 cents.
