I think you should go for perplexity, I have been using it for my studies whenever I have to do some research work, it also gives you references, video links etc...
hugging face with lama is good, as well as you can access Qwen 2.5 with 72B, its also free to use and opensource, also on hugging face

It can be frustrating when GPT shows bad gateway errors. You can try Copilot, which I use and find it very useful. I suggest you should also try it.

I can't imagine saying perplexity when I've had a few beers. If someone asked me.
I've personally stopped chatgpt ever since they brought the $20 charge premium in that's the last time I used it.
