How many meta keywords is too many that it will count as keyword stuffing?

Hey guys, just as the title says.

So how many meta keywords do you normally put in the meta tag of a web page you are trying to rank?

I think the keywords field is the least important meta tag of all 3 nowadays. I've stopped doing SEO over 3 years ago and I remember that even 1-2 years prior to stopping I didn't bother filling in the keywords field and I was fine,

I honestly wouldn't bother with that thing anymore, but if you absolutely must / want to use it up to 3 keywords is enough (I still say that google won't care about them though)

It's not the quantity but the quality of keyword phrases that matters. You need to add those phrases that you consider monetary.

As @tazarbm mentioned, it’s not a good practice to think about keywords in that way.

That said, there are some industries where keyword stuffing is still encouraged. However, I recommend analyzing your SERP competitors to get a broader perspective and understand what strategies are working in your niche.

Personally I have not used a meta keywords tag for at least a decade. Title and description are the only two worth any effort.
