Trying Tumblr Again...

Hi Everyone,

I've used Tumblr in the past, to spam affiliate links. Using 20 to 30 accounts simultaneously. With my own, custom coded bots. Making ~$10 a day.
It was highly frustrating. And hard to maintain. Keeping it up. Required me so much effort. And then see you're affected by the banwaves of Tumblr where all your accounts are automatically, and mercilessly BANNED. Gone for good.
So I ended quitting when, after a few tries, I saw I was not driving traffic anymore. Things changed.

This summarizes it all, quite well, my past experience with Tumblr, I think.

But I think I recently learned something important about being undetected as bot.
So I wanted to put it to test. And I Know Tumblr pretty well. It's like my Playground. Thus, I'm creating a new bot.



The Poster, Follower, and Liker are done.
The Commenter and reblogger are 0% done.

ATM I'm using a single account.



For me, one of the most frustrating things of starting a Tumblr account is seeing your "Activity" graph, plain, saying that there's no activity at all.
Fortunately, I got my first follower today.



So I'm not completely invisible. That's a good sign.

I registered the account just a few days ago. An I know it takes Tumblr some time to give you visibility.

Tumblr has some limits.
- 250 Original Posts a day that resets at 00:00 ET / 6:00AM CET IIRC
- 2000 Likes a day In theory, though I got limited on after 1000. So I'll assume it's 1000 for me.
- 200 Follows a day, with a hard cap of 5000.

I'm posting NSFW, with some tags, and without links by now.
I have scraped ~50.000 images that I'm randomly posting.
Those images are not explicitly pornographic. Boobs / Butt seems ok... but not pussies / not dicks (or your posts will be flagged).

For monetizing... I think I could link to an static page on cloudflare with display ads as publisher (RPM) and pub subs or I could use smartlinks from idk trafficcompany, los pollos etc...

But ATM I just want to keep posting, following, liking. At some point coding the commenter and reblogger. And see how tumblr behaves. What's the response in terms of visibility of my account, If I get followers / likes / comments ( notes )

The Commenter.js script is done. And I'm publishing shortened affiliated links (from traffic company) on not entirely random posts, and not entirely on random tags, but nearly.

I think this script alone is gonna get me banned xD

This is Traffic Company for Today. The blackened one with 46 visits is my country. So I assume that was me.
So I got 9 visits in total. Sound great ? Doesn't it ? Hahaha xD
The reason is simple. I know Tumblr quite well, so it's very easy for me to automate it.
I'm using Tumblr to scaffold a javascript project that I will reuse for other sites. Database operations, automation snippets etc...
For database I'm using PGLite, and I'm really loving it.

As I said in my original post. I think I learned something about looking real, and unique, something new. And I'm putting it to test. Deliberately risking my account. Reaching limits, so...

To be clear. I don't think it has paid off. At least not yet.
But you know, I was not expecting to become rich with this...
ATM I'm only assesting my visibility from others at Tumblr. And the survivability of my one account.
I think the next platform I'm going to test is DeviantArt, they have a Shape Security System, they use PerimeterX & FingerprintJS to prevent bots, fraud etc...
I already tested that I look human for Cloudflare.

IMO Tumblr always sucks at first. You need to gain relevance. And that takes time (and more than one account).

Trust me. I do not have a solid plan. I'm improvising.
I mean, I go to tumblr, navigate it and I decide how I'm going to code my scripts in real time. The commenter took me an ~hour.
And my scripts atm lack features.... Like, proxies, use of multiple accounts (concurrency)...
It depends on how I feel with the results. And with the results on other sites, If I'll decide to refactor those litle scripts to something more capable (scaling).

I've decided to drop PGLite and use a local PostgreSQL Server + pgAdmin. I'll be more productive this way.
Turns out PGLite is quite an alpha... Had some headaches trying to dump the database. And that makes me feel insecure...
So I've been migrating the entire database, and refactoring my code to use node-postgres (pg) instead of PGLite.
I've tidied it up a bit and put all the database operations in classes / methods (now is easier to read / maintain)

I think I'm done with that, but I won't be able to test it till tomorrow due to tumblr daily limits. I could create a new account and test, but nahh... not yet.

At some point I'll scrape more images. I know where to get >500.000 high quality images with related tags : )

Today I have added new tags to my poster posts...
Some of them target lower competition keywords
I added a message with an affiliate link to the posts as well.
The affiliate link is from Datify.link

It's just one account and I have just 16 followers but at least the clickthrough seems to be working.

I have passed the 1000 posts mark

The Liker & the Follower are working at this moment, for another 1000 Likes & 200 more follows





Next think I'm gonna do will probably be the Creator.js
To be able to create multiple accounts
Just in case this one gets banned That is something that.... I expect to happen. But we'll see.... what happens.
