Other than keywords, what hidden factors make a difference in ranking? How do you optimize images or content?

Just use Google/BHW, there are plenty of video/blog guides,
There's nothing hidden or special about on-page

Content guidelines are issued by search engines, you have to write according to that. You can also follow the patterns of top ranking sites already.

best tip I can give is to look into alternatives to google. Try to find out how to rank in Yandex, Baidu, Bing, DDG, etc... even in more obscure but upcoming SEs (startpage, ecosia, qwant, etc.)

programmatic SEO (whatever this means, I don't know, I only know that it works because a lot of people brag about it)... also black hat in general (cloaks and redirects, doorway pages, link injections and PBNs etc)

How do you optimize images
I've not done SEO in almost 4 years so I don't know what's changed, but images are pretty easy to optimize. You just need to...

- name the image after your keyword
- keyword the ALT tag
- make the image webp for whatever retarded reason (probably because google tells us to, so we gotta listen to these crooks)
- compress it

I think that's the most you can do to optimize an image... at least it was 4 years ago when I cared about SEO, I don't know what else there is to this nowadays...

or content?
if you want the old fashioned (that might, or might not still work) way...

if you want the new, completely retarded way full of technicalities and confusion that no one understands but the cibernetic brains of cibernetic entities (the AI and the computers in general), but which could work...

If this is too confusing for you, you can also use software like NeuronWriter, SurferSEO, or Scalenut to optimize the content, but it's pretty expensive, so stick to a few basic tips and then black hat the crap out of your site. Whether you go full white hat, full black hat, or a mix of both you'll still get penalized just because google hates everyone and only wants our money and engagement so we can train their AI. So, go full black hat from the start and if it doesn't work shift your attention towards other traffic sources :)

this is very interesting
what is your experience with ranking on those alternative search engines? in terms of profitabiliy and scaling
Idk if it's feasible to be successful with those alternatives using spammy websites (ai articles)

none!

But as google decline other SEs will take its place, so when those SEs boom it's best to already be established in them when the masses flood in and start creating competition. In every business it's best to be ahead of the curve instead of being late to the party :)

no idea, man. I've heard someone say last year that he was making $1000 / month with Bing traffic which he said converts better than google, which is not surprising considering how garbage google have become.

Of course, in terms of market share google is still the king, so I don't think anyone can compete with them just yet. But if you're not pretentious and you just want to afford to put food on the table I think Bing / DDG are good alternatives (Baidu too, although probably only for the Chinese / Asians, I don't know 'cause I've not seen many English sites in Baidu)

The problem is that nobody had shared a clear, accurate guide on how to rank in these 2nd tier SEs, and sometimes they seem to rank and de-index sites at random, based on arbitrary factors.

What I think might work, however is EMDs. I've heard someone say that EMDs are killing it in Bing, which is not surprising considering that all of these SEs are like 10-15 years behind google, so what used to work in google 10 years ago probably is what's working in Bing and DDG :)

Anyway, I wish I could help you, but I don't know too much about this other than for some folks it works...

If I were to give a few tips I would say focus on EMDs, grammar, strong backlinks and possibly on expired domains too (I have a feeling that - unlike with google which only considers content / site age - for these SEs domain age is a good ranking factor... just a feeling)
