In your opinion, what will knowing this or being enlightened gain for us? Personally, I believe that we all live in a society of spectacle. In content such as the video in your post, this show is actually just an imposition presented to us by society. I don't think any of us are special.

what have the millennia of knowledge gaining (so, enlightenment) gained for us? Well...

- we live longer and better
- we've become more intelligent
- we have stopped being barbaric en-masse (the few ones who are still barbaric are ruling over us unfortunately, because the system helps them)
- we have gotten into space
- we have become more civilized in general (we don't bludgeon ourselves to death to steal each other's food or women)

Personally, I believe that we all live in a society of spectacle.

spectacle is the harmless part of the rigged society we live in, the harmful part you can see it in everything else (polarized wealth, greed, big egos, systems that favor the most opportunistic, most greedy, most egotistical and most aggressive specimens, etc)

Also, no offense, but you didn't have time to watch the 40 minute long video (you've made your comment barely 8 minutes after I posted this video), so how can you draw conclusions on something that you don't know anything (or very little) about? Again, no offense intended, I'm just trying to point your misconceptions

you don't know if extraterestrials (advanced civilizations in general) or what's going on in the world interest you??? I know you said that you have the attention span of a squirrel but you didn't mention anything about the interests of a squirrel

Anyway, wish I could give you a TL;DR but I forgot most of the things because for me these things are already common knowledge since decades ago, so I tend to forget (but NOT dismiss) them. The only thing I remember is what I've said in the OP: the ETs really are the good guys and are concerned about us (in which way, you'll have to watch the video), but our leaders (and the ultra rich companies in general that have gotten hold of this planet's resources) are only preoccupied with maintaining the status quo or get even richer and more powerful, even if this means extinction of our civilization...

Yeah, I guess you could say that this is the TL;DR, but you're not interested in these things anyway, so I don't think the TL;DR matters
