Well first of all, that cloned script is coded poorly, very buggy, and very vulnerable to MySQL injections. Just a tip.

The script is good to build off of... it's a good foundation and gives you a nice conceptual layout to see where you'd like to take the site.

If you do use the script right out of the box, just make sure you clean up the variables being passed to your MySQL queries. Use stripslashes(), mysql_real_escape_string(), etc.
