there is no need to be sarcastic as tap water really is NOT healthy here in Romania. At least not in my local area (S-SW)@tazarbm do you dare to drink tap water? what do you think they may put in water to contaminate all population?
In school, we learn that the water has (well, it should have) 3 properties:
- it lacks smell
- it lacks colour
- it lacks odour
Well, in Romania (again, where I live, I won't speak for the entire country) the tap water is sometimes yellow-ish, sometimes light grey-ish, and it also has taste, which - once again - is not normal.
I don't know what they put in the water because I've not looked into this, but I've heard some people say that it's a chlorine-based substance of some kind, which may be true, especially since one of my close relatives had gotten ill from drinking this water last year and we've had to hospitalize him.
To be fully honest, I don't think that this is a conspiracy theory as tap water had been non-potable here in my area for decades, so it could be a lack of care from the authorities. It could still be a conspiracy of the powers that be, no doubt about it given the crazy times we live in. But I am inclined to believe that - in this particular case - it's lack of care and education more than evilness...
When I worked abroad in the Netherlands between 2018 and 2020, however, I finally got the chance to drink tap water that is actually potable and which had reminded me of the water from my childhood that was also potable back in the communist era...
Anyway, in the Netherlands I never lacked any drink that I've wanted (my fridge had always been full AT ALL TIMES with Coca-Cola, natural nectar, tea, milk, and mineral water) and yet, most of the time I drank tap water because of how clean and safe it was. And I think Norway also has clean drinkable tap water, I keep hearing this from one of my cousins that's been living there for over a decade.... so it probably depends on which country / area you're living in, I don't think that the quality of [anything] is the same everywhere... sadly...
