Is there such thing as a "pure" search engine?

Google refines searches so much. I can't find what I want.
Is there a search engine that will actually show pure and real results without hiding anything?

Or do i need to go on Tor or something for that

Nah, there's no such thing as a "pure" search engine. Every search engine has its own algorithms that try to figure out what you really want, even if you don't know how to ask for it. Google's just the biggest and best at it, which can be annoying sometimes. To find stuff Google might be hiding, you can try DuckDuckGo, Bing, or even specialized search engines for specific topics. Tor is for much more serious stuff, like accessing the dark web, and probably overkill for what you're looking for.

I think people default to DuckDuckGo, but you have to define what you mean by “pure”.

It depends on what you're looking for,
By the terms "hiding" & "tor" you're using, it seems like something BH,
I personally still use Google mainly to search for stuff, it's doing the work most of the time,
Sometimes Bing provides better & more accurate results, but again, it depends...

AI will filter by your search area and language, so even if you type some searches correctly, it will still show websites in your area.

Some search engines (Qwant, Ecosia) copy the results from google, SEs that don't copy results from google (such as Bing or DDG) push their own agenda and censorship, and other SEs that seem impartial or "pure" to some extent (Yandex, Baidu) are used locally mostly, so they don't generate as much traffic.

We're living a transition period in which google are dying and other search engines are trying to figure out if it's worth existing (as a "pure" search engine I mean) anymore, I think that until this transition period ends (which could take years) we still have to deal with biased and agenda-driven tech
