Recently, I noticed that some of the health-related websites I operate seem to have been penalized by Google. These sites are not showing up well in search results, and in some cases, even when searching for the domain name directly, they don’t appear on the first page. I suspect this might be because Google places a high emphasis on trustworthiness when it comes to medical or health-related topics. Websites of hospitals or reputable organizations seem to rank higher, while personal blogs or general health-related sites often have their indexing removed or see a significant drop in ranking.

What I’m particularly curious about is whether linking from a penalized domain to another domain could negatively impact the latter. For instance, if I were to direct traffic or link from a penalized site to a newly created site, could this harm the new domain’s search rankings or trustworthiness?

I’m wondering how best to handle penalized domains and whether there’s a safe way to operate a new domain without carrying over these issues. I’d love to hear any advice on what I should be mindful of in this situation.

This niche is particularly sensible and if your website is not considered serious and professional by Google, it can be ignored and don't rank well, especially if you are using AI generators to create low quality articles. You'd need to compete against industry giants with decades of authority built over tons of content

Google is known for being stricter with YMYL niches for over a decade now,
So, the short answer is probably yes, it's easier to get devalued, triggering algo & getting penalized for the lack of trust

For what i have been seeing, the Dec 2024 update had implications across the market, high DA corporate sites gained much of rankings including tiktok, instagram etc

Its hard to know about the linking passing on juice or not. Maybe pick some web 2.0 or some random site your not affiliated too and send a homepage link from your sites that are devalued and see what happens.

If it boost up the site maybe its ok to link to a new money site but if they dont help or tank rankings you know to just give up on them or keep them isolated from your other projects.

The one thing that has stayed constant throughout my time in IM is a ton of people who have not tested stuff themself will give you answers to questions as if they have.

On something like this its really easy to do your own testing and then you will know for sure how it works. (report back here so I know too :))
