The same ID can show comments in some subreddits, but not in others. Why is this?

You're either banned from those particular subs or that account is shadow banned. Comments probably only show for you but others cant see them.

Subreddits have the authority to apply their own moderation policies, such as hiding or deleting rule-breaking comments, restricting commenting rights, or using automated systems to filter content. Therefore, comments may be hidden due to rule violations, receiving many downvotes, or user bans.

Check them from other network, just to verify.
Also you could try viewing them in private browsing or see if they appear in the feed of another user's account.

@okayvpn - do you think you may have violated any of the rules? We all know that Reddit and subreddit moderation seems to be a tricky arena to navigate.

It’s likely not a full shadowban but rather subreddit-specific filters or moderation settings. Some subs use auto-mod rules that filter out comments from accounts with low karma, new accounts, or certain flagged words. To check, try commenting in a subreddit with looser moderation, like r/test, and see if it appears. If your account isn’t shadowbanned, focus on building karma and engaging in subs with lenient rules before posting in stricter ones.

If you can view your account in incognito you aren't reddit shadowbanned. Many subs use filters to hide comments from low karma accounts.

I know in one sub there is a user with 1/-100 karma and until recently, their comments showed up auto collapsed due to them having low karma. A few weeks ago none of their comments show up at all now, I think they said they had -2k karma from this one sub, so likely their spam filters are just auto hiding them now.

I always have my coworker check my profile. It's silly posting, waiting for upvotes, only to realize that the account has been shadowbanned for long.
