Subdomain parasite SEO? How did they do it?

Just found a very interesting site that ranks high on some NSFW keywords:

https://digitalcommunity.britishcou...ol-edit-your-photos-with-this-free-undress-ai

It seems this article is posted on a subdomain of the official site of British council: https://www.britishcouncil.org/

But I don't think it is a real subdomain of the British council, is it?

How did they do it to parasite subdomain?

You mean https://digitalcommunity.britishcouncil.org/ is the official subdomain of https://britishcouncil.org/ ?

It doesn't look like a really official one.

That looks like a Ning installation. Unfortunately signups seem to be disabled (/main/authorization/doSignUp). Wayback has it first accessed in September 2023. Maybe someone at their web dev office was toying with a community site and left it up there. The domain seems to have many subdomains, it could have gotten lost in the crowd. Or someone with admin access is making a bit on the side. I don't think we'll ever really know.
