I am building pages for companies on Facebook and one of them was disabled today and I don't know why.

The way I had it set up was a member would land on a custom tab with where I had a contest going on.

For every thousand members I would draw a winner from my fan pool and they would get a 500$ prize.

But to participate, they had to become a fan, invite their friends and fill out a form that sent their email info and name to an Excel spreadsheet so that I could enter their info into the companie's CRM.

What could have gotten my page disabled?

I really don't know. I think its a bug of some sort.

Back on topic please

Did you have a disclosure on the page (what was expected of the participants)

Facebook requires you to disclose how (and who it will be shared with) their information will be used.

(and the many thanks is a glitch from a while back, I think when some posts or sections were removed)

could you give me an example of a disclosure? Because no I didn't have one

I dont think facebook likes you holding competitions :/

I do not think they mind, as a lot of the big corporations do this. However, I think Dadelius is correct when he says you must have some form of disclosure.

You're not allowed to hold contests that involve inviting fans unless you do it through a service like WildFire. It says so in their updated terms of service. That is almost definitely why the page was disabled. I hope you can get it back. Please update this thread.

Facebook dont mind Holding Competitions
But if you used Iframing it definitely looked like a Page to promote CPA offers
When you are making Pages for companies you should not use things like these on landing Pages

Yea, I forgot to mention, not only did you lack a disclosure, you were forcing them to "like" the page. That is against FB's TOS.

Then how else could they participate? By filling out the form?

and to answer a previous poster : I didn't have anything Iframed in there

They would have to "like" the page (of course), but you should leave that up to them; not force them to do it.
