what if the government (well, the people in charge, not the entire government) is being gaslit or kept unaware of whether someone or something's being a baddie behind their back? In such a case the government (despite of how much I dislike it too) would allow it because they wouldn't be aware of what's happening

I can believe this. To be honest, I'd like to meet an ET in person too, but even as I type this I am shaking, if I saw one in real life I'd probably shit my pants and then pass out lol
But even so, I'd still like to meet one, but a well-intended one, not a vicious scumbag ET like I'm pretty sure exists somewhere too...
But anyway, ETs will not meet mere mortals like me since our unknown "leaders" are busy shooting them down, I am sure they have more pressing matters to handle

If you really want me to comment seriously, I would simply say there's no strong visual or logical evidence,
It's just random people showing random blurred videos, many of which are obviously fake for different reasons such as views, attention, etc...

Mainstream news networks have been talking about drones flying over unrestricted airspace. YouTube channels and social media have been showing these drones and even orbs in the skies. Have any idea why these drones are flying all over the place is the question?
