Ok let's say that I've found a niche , for example "pregnancy diet" and then realised that .com .net .org .info and .biz domains for that niche are already registered .

Which are some of the best alternatives that I may choose in order for my domain to be seo friendly?

pregnancy-diet.com is ok? or pregnancydietxxxx.com would be a better choice? (xxx would be a third related keyword to my niche)

I would go with pregnancydietXXXX.com before I ever used a hyphenated domain name.

Just my opinion.

I will also go with pregnancydietxxxx.com because it will give more choice in keyword targeting... :)

make it xxxxpregnancydiet.com and use words such as best, fastest, etc :spankme:

Wouldn't really matter actually.

Could use "tips" or "ideas" if he did pregnancydietxxxxx.com; that is just more of a preference thing.

ok if you then realised that pregnancyfood.co.cc was available would you go for it or you will insisted on pregnancyfoodxxxx.com?

I would go for the .com always first, then .net, then .info.
I don't really look at anything besides those though.

I would always go with the hyphen, simply because
1. you are targeting 2 words, not 1 (pregnancy diet is just not pregnancydiet)
2. google has an official statement concerning this topic:

The part I mean is
Consider using punctuation in your URLs. The URL h ttp://w ww.example.com/green-dress.html is much more useful to us than h ttp://w ww.example.com/greendress.html. We recommend that you use hyphens (-) instead of underscores (_) in your URLs.
I know, this is related to subpages, not domains - but why should they change their algorithm when it comes to domain names, right?

I would go for hyphen too. just dont use to much. the shorter your domain name the better.
