4year old domains...HELP!

I have found two 4 yr old domains that are available for purchase. One PR1. Should I waste my time putting sites on these domains or should I pass. If they were profitable niches then why let the domains expire? Or am I looking at this all wrong?

maybe the previous owner forgot about them, maybe the previous owner quit internetmarketing. I say get them, aged domains are always a nice bonus. You will rank faster in Google and Google will not sandbox you that fast.

Aged domain doesn't guarantee ranking but it can help... Check for what that domains has been used in past... Little background check will give you better insight... Also if you will search you will find hundreds of domains which are aged and got some PR left... I saw a domain which was 6 years old but just a gibberish name like sjkhkehkjds.com... If you just planning to develop it to get backlinks then ok but for money site not good option so you need to decide on lots of factors before making purchase... It's not something you got some hidden treasure, you can always find them online... But some times there are good domains so check yourself... No body can give you advise without checking domain name which you can't disclose... LOL if you disclose and i find they are worth i might try to get it for my own before you realize it's gone...

make sure that they have had archives in the past.if so,then its very good.that would make your SEO efforts simple.

check them out on the wayback machine at archive.org

A good idea is to check also if them was not banned in Google, why the owner are dropping them?Sometimes you can have surprises.
