People use money (or other value-less store of value systems) for 1000s of years. Unless you grow your own food, you should be valuing your ability to take care of your and your family's needs.

What you said is true and that's how it should be. But nowadays after getting success or more money people leave behind those who were there in their tough time and search for more fancy things including people (their loved ones).

So you're talking about lack of values when it comes to money? I don't think it happens that much. I see it in some areas, but I think it has something to do with the average earning per family not keeping up with the cost of living.
