In other words, trading commodities and currencies doesn't generate the kind of turnover that cryptocurrency trading does. And, in fact, it is simply bought up and held like digital gold, considering it a safe investment. Thus, a significant portion of funds end up simply frozen and taken out of circulation. Still, everyone is being beckoned by the price of a million per bitcoin. Today, it once again hit a new high, which may cause an influx of new investors. I don't think there will be more and more of them on Christmas Eve, but people are still buying, not selling.

Nah, you're not a dumbass. I was actually talking about stablecoins. Banks or governments can issue them backed by bonds they already have on their balance sheets.

So, instead of just sitting there on the balance sheet, these bonds become a source of extra liquidity. They're basically getting cashed out.

About your Bitcoin idea and the money going back to the budget – you're right, but it can work the other way around.

The Fed has tons of bonds they bought through QE. They can issue stablecoins against these assets and use them to buy BTC – like Tether does with some of its USDT.

Now, follow me here: that BTC reserve could be staked. What do you get? Interest from the bonds PLUS staking rewards from Bitcoin PLUS Bitcoin price appreciation. Boom.
