So I see cloning tips shared here and it makes me wonder what happens if someone clones my money site not that I have one but just saying I would be upset, yet people who do have use these cloning things and would get upset if their sites got cloned so makes me wonder how ethical are we on this is it okay to clone others (my opinion not) but when ur sites get cloned be upset. Just a general rant what’s your take on this

Even if someone clones any site, it is not always possible that the cloned site will outrank the original website. So I do not think we should worry about it.

It's impossible to have the site cloned with live updates if you block the referring traffic from that site.
And how could possibly a cloned site affect yours?
I have mine cloned countless times but they never get indexed.

And my thoughts on this: people who have nothing to do but clone or steal other people's work will never succeed in life. You can do nothing with this kind of mindset. Probably those that still do it it's their first time because from my experience this kind of cheap stuff never works. These people probably still live in 2000.

Ever used a green button? You copied it from somewhere. There's very little original thinking in the way 99.999% of the internet work.

Copying an entire lander or site is just doing it at a different level.

I don't do it myself, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't test different design concepts or page structures based on ideas I took from competitors.

What happens if someone else get job position that i want? I would be upset.

Just because you're upset, doesn't mean anything wrong was done to you. Ethical? Ethics are nothing but opinions. Principles that are created by others and imposed on you. Yes, we are "unethical" because we break rules, but rules aren't created by god. They're created by people - more often than not corrupt, who usually break their own rules - and i'm free to disagree with them.

We essentially game the system. Those on top do the same. Are you unethical for upvoting your own posts on Reddit? Well...Reddit was created by people who lied about their own site's stats. They literally did what they now punish you for doing. Reddit's creator has admitted to enter the server to change a user's words to make it look like he said something he didn't. If it was you who had done that, you'd probably be banned or even criminally charged. But he still owns the place and does whatever the fuck he wants.

Rules are to keep you, the small guy, in check, and controlled, while those on top do whatever they want. So i really don't give a fuck about "ethics".

The reality is: We cry about ethics when we are the victims, when we are bossing and in a power position and doing it to others we don't think about ethics.

this question visits me from time to other, and it's so hard and complicated to work 100% ethical, I never spam or do somthing like that.
But now I have a lot of cracked software like windows, office, adobe.... , and when my conscience start pangs me, about those software, my answer be like this ; those are big whale and dominate their business model and make such money every second, so they don't need my subscription.

And do every possible thing(like negative SEO and AdSense click bombing) to tank the original site.

Another ethical question comes to my mind hwat is to have an ethics code guideline/conduct on your website,
especially as a consulting or coaching agency?

I mean, respecting customers, regardless of their ethnic origin and giving the best possible solutions, all of that is actually self-evident, right? Some websites have such ethics code policy/guideline on their site, is it more of a marketing gimmick to mention something that goes without saying. How do you see it, does such an ethics code guideline look suspicious or does it bring more trust to website visitors and also more customers (sales)?

On the otherside, yeah there are very rude business branches, like oil, gas, diamonds, insurance, stock trading, horticulture (produce potting soil that's not a joke) yes there you must be corrupt, unethical, a swine like JR Ewing from Dalls, otherwise the competitors will drive you under the bus. In all other branches not. (yep you have your own rules but you are not a badass swine).

Here in germeny too some big consulting agencies have an ethics code policy, but it's a double sword too in today hard harsh business world.

What's wrong with cloning? Unless you infringe copyright, I don#t see the issue. If someone makes a website identical to yours and steals all your customers, then you just suck at your business.

Cloning a website word for word doesn't mean you'll make the same money or get the same conversion rate. most of the money comes from the backend and the long relationship with your customer, not the front end. The front end can be stolen and copied, but it's a little harder to copy the whole backend.

You know that you need credentials to login in a wordpress admin dashboard? You know that when you use email marketing via mailchaimp as example, the customers leads go to the mailchimp inbox, right? So with that in mind how will someone steal my leads? It's not possible maybe only when you are an high professional skilled hacker. Stealing my content form my site, here there are plugins who (or in the new wordpress installation wizard it's include- hotlinking with that noone can steal your image's and content. Yep ok, mailchimp can use your leads....

Yes very good point. I don't want to be hypocrite. I doing it but I don't like wjen others do it to me? That doesn't mean I don't like to take precautions.

Be ethical, even if others aren’t. In the end, your integrity and the value you create will always set you apart, no matter who tries to copy.
