JR pricing has significantly increased over the years, especially when considering the quality compared to 5 or 10 years ago. (Old dogs know)

Additionally, this could inadvertently validate scammers, as it might create the impression that anyone who can afford the JV membership must be legitimate.

//# of posts .. If someone were planning to scam people, they could easily create 1,000 high-quality posts in a month to appear credible.

ESCROW is the permanent fix
Yeah mate… Jr. Vip used to be 97 bucks Haha

Escrow sounds good. But i’m unsure if that will be the best solution. Who will work as Escrow Assistant? Who will trust in send lets say $1k just because BHW has Escrow?
That can conduce to more scams and implicate BHW on it.
People might know that they’re dealing with someone Not - Trusted just by the Newbie tag , but even with the newbie tag people still falling in scams .
Didn’t BHW thought about a internal - coin? Where people can exchange per $ and reverse , send the specific amount in Coins and seller can withdraw the amount in $ .
( If the deal was made properly ) if not the buyer can HOLD or report the transaction.

Something like that could work. Avoid scams and direct payments ( If you do direct payments , that’s your play )
I will develop something in xenforo local in my computer and try to share with the staff
Escrow or credit system. I agree with this idea.

a lot of scammers, and it's relatively easy to get to 100 posts and just farm like 10 accounts (just simple automation and AI can do that without any human interaction) and keep them for 60 days and than start scamming, rinse, repeat.... 1000 posts in the other hand needs some real focus and effort to reach and will be probably warned with spamming too much along the way or some kind of warning so only real ones will reach it which eliminates at least a few scammers (1000 is too much ? maybe at least 500 i think 500 is fairly reasonable)

AND.. for BHW membership price to keep everything running the same, you can just adjust the price for membership level and make it a little bit higher (serious people will still pay i don't think it will hurt to make it 199$ per year)

yes, I KNOW I HAVE ONLY 184 MESSAGES

sorry if it's the worst suggestion you've seen today but well i had to speak in behalf of some newbies haha
There was talks about BHW setting up a payment processing system as well as KYC system for sellers. If these two ever materialize, it'll help in reducing scams.

BHW has paid staff members already,
Escrow can make an additional and good boost to the overall earnings of the forum,
There are a ton of marketplaces made this way, they're literally businesses for the sake of the escrow service itself,
It's simply automated, and assistants are only required to investigate any possible appeals, pretty much as dispute section for now,

I'm pretty sure it's more reliable to trust the forum itself, rather than some random member on it,
People are buying and sending money to the sellers because they put their trust in BHW to validate them as sellers,

That's literally what an escrow service is meant for,
Funds will be kept on hold until the buyer marks the service as received/done,

I'm not putting any blame on the BHW staff tho, it's not as easy technically/legally, not to mention the payment processors,
It would be a relatively huge step for the owners/staff & forum with some challenges for sure, but it will surely be worth it for the long term,
Especially with all of the scams happening lately & spam in the HAF/WTB threads,
People are buying upgraded accounts for $100-$200 & scamming for $300+, that's a positive ROI for them, which is basically kind of exploited

Escrow is a bad idea, maybe a quick review of a person's post history is better, if the posts are well distributed, then ok, if it's clear they are responding quickly to reach jr vip, then nahh, also the moderation check of the service should be better, that's the only thing that matters, to post a service here, a moderation member should receive the service for free and check the quality every time.

why is it bad?

why is it bad?
Escrow needs a middleman, and that costs money. For small transactions, it just adds fees, delays, and makes it harder to make any money here. Plus, people are quick to call someone a scammer if they don’t get results, but no service guarantees results, if it did, we’d all be rich. A lot of buyers just have unrealistic expectations. Escrow would only make things messier with pointless disputes. Better to trust post history and reviews instead.

IMO anybody that offers services or wants to reply to WTB/HAF threads should be paying more than the standard price of JrVIP. The cost of sales thread should increase, $30 is very cheap to have access to The Marketplace, and they should pay some form of deposit (10x the cost of their highest offer?) to cover unresolved disputes, they would get the deposit back at the end of sales thread term.

Just an idea.

I think time spent on BHW should be given more priority

1000 post is alot. Not everyone as the energy of posting all days. I have being on the forum since 2014 yet my post count is not upto 1000.

Also even if bhw increase post count to 1000 that will not stop scammers from becoming junior vip it will only take them more time to get to 1k post count, becomes a junior and scam innocent forum members then disappear and reappear with a new account to scam again.

Scammers will go to any learnt to scam innocent people even if the the post count is increased to 10k some scammers will patiently farm multiple account till it reach 10k then scam innocent people. That is how useless they are

This has been suggested in the past. It's important to strike a balance between keeping scammers out whilst keeping the usergroup accessible to genuine members. Raising the post count threshold to 1,000 would cause too many issues in terms of how the forum currently operates. For example, there are many sellers right now who lose their Jr. VIP memberships and their marketplace threads should this be enacted.

For those of you suggesting an escrow service, I know you're tired of hearing this, but it's supposed to be a feature in marketplace 2.0. Unfortunately though, I don't have an ETA or know any further information about marketplace 2.0.
