So, yeh.

About 6 months ago, I deleted all my social media.

And I feel much so much better.

All of these social media stuff, it's draining your energy, robbing you of your time and feeding you with toxicity. And I was not even using it a lot like maybe 20 minutes a day?

And there is simply no reward for it, okay so... I posted when I won a court case and Got 600-1k Likes on my post or on my photos but, so what? And? nothing.

Overall it's a waste of time. But if your business is involved around it, it's fine... I am talking about personal use.

And

Sometimes I wanna Delete all my Social Media & Even throw mobile into River.

THE Mind which makes us to do such things. To free yourself, to be more authentic, to be less addicted, to be less manipulated, to be less paranoid. Deleting Social Media account isn't the right solution.

If you understand the 'Mind'
You gonna feel some days after or months after or even year after. The same mind pops up like "why I deleted ?

So, instead of Deleting Social Media Account
I suggest, some other option like "Log Out" , Break free, Unfollow, Unfriend, etc.

I have gone almost a couple of years without social media & it was one of the best decision in my Life!

Nice done mate! It's very interesting topic and that's what I'm thinking about for a few months now but on the opposite side. I like to have attention of other people but don't have any active social network. Every now and then, I think about creating a YouTube channel and start publishing video to gain subs, likes, etc. but when it comes to taking action, I take a step back for several reasons. One of the reasons is what you have mentioned "imagine I have xxx followers and get tons of likes on every single of my post, so what?". Am I making something valuable? Probably not. That's how people like to act in social media. You get always likes and comments regardless of what you post... .

Anyway, that's very interesting decision you have made and I congratulate you for that! You know what's the most important? It's that you are happy with what you've done. ;)

The main reason I haven’t deleted my accounts yet is that I’ve uploaded pictures for my relatives in other parts of the world to see. Social media has been a convenient way to share updates with them. We also have group chats for more direct communication, which is great, but the photos I’ve shared on my profile make it easier for them to keep up at their own pace.

It was really tough though and as we humans get used to things)) we think it's normal.

Actually turns out that it's an addiction.

Had to do it.

What is "personal" social media? :p
Ehm.

I had a page and a profile where I used to post my lawyer stuff, legal matters, cases and etc, so I called it "work" social media account.

And personal one that you know the one that we use to talk to our friends and show off new stuff :D.

if you never had fwends
you wouldn't had needed a personal social media :P

I don't need to delete my social media, someone named george from nigeria is managing it for free. I heard he's enjoying my profile and seems to be making some money out of it selling tina tuner tickets.

My personal take: if it's not helping you make money, exploit the personal brand awareness, it's a freaking waste of time. Congratulations!

After I saw a porn photo on my Facebook page, I had to quit using it. I didn't delete the account. As for X, I only use it to share GOD'S word.

All the best to you.

part of my work relies on social media, unfortunately I can't do that
Yeah
what kind of job makes you need to have a personal social media account though?
Freelancing. If you don't have other traffic sorted idk seo, ads, etc how else are you going to find clients? (I will NOT use Fiverr, everyone fuck off.) And yes, personal account because these get traffic easier than company pages.
I did the same thing last year
Honestly, i only use YouTube at this point
Yeah, Youtube was the only quasi-sm thing that I used before reactivating my social media profiles for freelancing. That and some other forum I spent half my day on (not work related). Other than that if you leave me alone with music and books I could probably stay like this and not talk to anyone for years.

I'd soooo love to delete my social media, but it is what it is, once I do a bit more of my company blog I'm going to modify posts a bit for social media eh. So, you know, dreams vs reality.

@SilverClouds

The thing is that you are already aware, that it's a problem.

That's the hardest part, realization of the fact that using it for every day and etc. is an addiction .
