Does Paid Traffic Help with Article Indexing?

Hi everyone!

I have a question about promoting articles, especially on platforms like Medium or as a guest post on other websites. Does paying for traffic (like pop traffic) help with indexing the article on search engines, or is it better to focus on sending traffic only after the article is already indexed?

I’m curious about how traffic impacts SEO and whether it can help with ranking even if the content isn’t indexed yet.

Paid traffic does help with indexing, but only if it's Google Ads traffic... I mean, it could work with other paid traffic too, but I can only speak about Google Ads since that's what I've seen being tested with.

Also, it's important that the page you're trying to index allows indexation, and I'm mentioning this because I just noticed that you're asking about Medium posts, and from what I know Medium marks their posts as non-indexable, so you could throw all of the paid traffic that you want at your Medium posts but if they're noindex'd they simply won't index

Chrome traffic with good UX helps, for both indexing & ranking,
Google has been using Chrome users Data for SEO for a good while now,
So, for whatever source of traffic, as long as it's tracked by google & the website/pages have good UX signals, they'll help, the more the better

Medium puts new accounts into no index box. To get out it you can try buying engagement and see it that works instead of buying traffic. Also time is a factor, you can but aged medium accounts.

Just to clarify,
Medium is no longer using noindex tag for posts of new accounts, you can post 15 posts per day and you're good to go as long as the account doesn't get banned

and my main idea is to find the good protocol when i created a new page beetween this 2 scenario :

- Send traffic & Use Indexer tool in the same time
or
- Use indexer tool and wait for indexing... And when it's done sent traffic

It helps with ranking but if it stops, it makes you drop in ranking.

Paid traffic can definitely help with indexing, but only if the page is actually indexable in the first place. As far as I know on Medium new accounts are often stuck in noindex, so no matter how much traffic you send, it won’t make a difference.
Before spending on traffic, I’d recommend checking if the page is even being considered for indexing. Google index checker can save you a ton of time by showing whether Google is crawling or indexing your content.
Once you know the page is good to go, then just focus on sending traffic with solid engagement signals
