for that kind of clients you need few steps to follow. in my experience there 95% clients who don't know what they actually want. so steps are
1. proper meeting to understand what they actually going to start . either its business etc , doesn't matter how many times you want to do meeting but clear your concepts.
do research , similar concepts , do your proper homework.
2. a proper agreement with client. mention each and everything. like in this price how many revision you will provide , deadline etc each and everything should be mention in agreement. otherwise client will make unlimited changes and in the end he will be not satisfy. then?
3. advance payment up to 30 to 60% depends on project. because after giving them few concepts he will reject you and then go to cheap designer with your concepts.
also mention in agreement there will be extra charges for changes in mid of design.
4. milestones... milestones are best way to keep design on track. mention proper milestone in agreement and do meeting after each milestone completed. this will help you in design mid changes . dont move on next milestone if previous not approved.
