joomla or wordpress?

Hello fellow BHW Members:

We currently do websites internally and for some of the customers we have on staff. I have a graphic/web designer that currently uses dream weaver and I thought about using one or the other CMS. I am wondering the following:

A. Which product do you like more and easier to use?
B. I know some places say they are both SEO friendly but I wasn't sure what your thoughts were on this?
C. For deploying websites has this saved a ton of time in internal web page creation as well as building websites for customers that like to edit?

Are there any downfalls that I am missing on this?

In general Joomla has a great platform,
but there are technical problems in getting
plugins to work and/or integrate with apps.

Personally, I use Wordpress for its easy
features and many advantages for off the
shelf plugins and apps.

There's plenty of versatility in both systems,
WP is overall more user friendly, quicker and
easier to set-up and get results...

I find that Wp is faster to use to set up a new site for a customer when they give you all the content. Plus the fact of all the plug ins that really work saves a ton of time when you have an seo customer.

Wp is my vote.

Wordpress all the way. Joomla migrated very well from Mambo years ago and has been a great program. It is very complex compared to Wordpress.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the hardest, an average person would consider Wordpress a 6 and Joomla a 8-9. Getting the layout is the hardest part and setting up the back end.

WP has a lot of cool modules. Both have advantages though.

Both can be integrated just as nicely as the other.

Wordpress just seems to be easier and quicker to get working in the way you want it to.

I've used both and would prefer WP any day. It just works right out of the box and is easy to configure in terms of plugins etc.

for a more professional looking site, joomla would be great with a lot of free components, modules and plugins.

for blogging particularly, wp is fine. it also has thousands of free plugins.

but for me, i'm with joomla

WP makes life sooooooooo much easier. You don't have to know a lick of prgramming to use it.

I would stick with WP. It just looks better if you ask me, and is alot easier to use.

There are tons of plugins for SEO purposes too. Just install, modify a little and there you go.

Just search SEO plugins for WP, you'll find a lot of them.

I prefer wordpress... it's easy to install and manage... About pro look i think wordpress can be customized enough to look like pro...

About SEO wordpress is seo friendly and got tons of plugins to make it more good in seo terms.. There are even theme like thesis which can be used to get more functionality....... Thesis theme is also very seo friendly...

I prefer Joomla, but IMO, with all the plugins and themes and components for each, it comes down to personal preference. I find Joomla to be a little less user-friendly, but no harder to manage than Wordpress.
