Hey all,

This might be a very silly question but I figure it's worth asking.

Are any of you paranoid when discussing BH methods via Gmail? I'm usually quite cautious about what I say.. On one hand I'm thinking that maybe this is truly paranoia. On the other hand, if they ARE spying on this (and why shouldn't they? Gmail is a free service they're giving us) then I'm not as cautious I should be..

Just curious whether there's any universal wisdom I am not familiar with.

Thanks,
B

Just assuming they are - which I truely do not believe -, what are u afraid of?

Again, like I said, paranoia

Discussion of paid links on Gmail account -> connection to AdSense/Google Webmaster Tools/Etc -> Many sites I own -> Wrath of Gxxgle.

I dont think that Google can afford this.. just imagine it can be proven - would be some bad ass negative publicity. Especially Google should take really care of this since they are accused of mass collection of data.

Bad publicity if someone can prove...

Not saying (by any means) that's the case. Just curious what others think.

google records everything that flows through their services, but they won't inspect any of it unless you give them a reason to.

so lets say one day your adsense account is under investigation for whatever reason. could said investigation possibly include someone at google looking through your inbox for something blackhat related? if they're really thorough then i wouldn't doubt it.

I think Google is more worried about how they are gonna make their next billion.

Now the feds on the other hand....

I think that is a little too much paranoia.

Think of how many millions use Gmail worldwide at the same exact second every single day all day.

I highly doubt Google would waste it's time and resources on something like that.
