Business Expenses for the Newbie

Hi guys

I've been browsing around, and noticed that a lot of newbies (me included) always ask the same questions - ie, which tools to get. Most of it obviously depends on what you NEED it for in the first place, and I should put in a disclaimer here - tools are exactly that, tools. You still need to know how to use them, and use them well to work for your advantage. There is no magic bullet.

Having said that, I have concluded that there are a few tools/software/services that are very helpful, for a total initial outlay of less than $500. They are:

Scrapebox (currently $57)
For SEO purposes, getting backlinks, checking backlinks etc. I just bought this a few days ago, and am VERY impressed. Pretty reasonable cost as well - in my opinion, this is a MUST buy for any serious online business venture (yes even Whitehat). Watch the training videos if you aren't convinced.

The Best Spinner (currently $77 per year)
For SEO purposes, spinning articles for submission to article sites etc (and therefore for backlinks, and even some traffic). Will save you time in the long-run, meaning you can use your time for better things.

Facewizard (currently $199)
For Social Marketing purposes. Not cheap, and therefore not for the person just starting out (which is why I haven't bought it!), but looks incredibly powerful.

Tweetattacks (currently $127)
For Social Marketing purposes. Also not cheap , but another great tool if you plan on generating traffic from one of the biggest sites around.

These 4 tools together (total cost $460) can be combined to tap a potential reach of ....oh I don't know, close to 1,000,000,000 people.

My advice to fellow BHW newbies - look at this as a business. As with all businesses, there will be some initial costs that the business will have to bare. Scrape together whatever you can, invest in your business, and don't give up.

I just gave you 100 million possible money sources. What are you going to do about it?

Good list, and well said, the reason so many people fail at Internet Marketing, is the ease with which one can get started. You can litterally get started for nothing.
Treat this like a business, and work it like one.

you'll get out of it what you put into it for sure.

And the tools you listed while being some of the best you have to keep in mind that in the wrong hands (newbie's) they can do more harm than good.

if you do get these tools spend the time reading up on them, watching the vids, and learning how they work before blasting away at the rest of the Internet!

I completely agree. I should've probably included that in my disclaimer - if you spend the cash, it's your responsiblity to learn, try, test, fail, learn some more etc.

I just want to emphasize that although it's super easy to get into IM (as you said, no or low cost), it doesn't mean you don't have to do the hard-yards. The addage "easy come easy go" still applies, even in IM.....

good share. yes it can cost some money to get started. But you can use some of the services on here to gain some fast cash. to get the programs that you need to get.

You can always still do things by hand at first just takes longer but will be worth it in the end.

If you don't want to pay the $130 for tweetattacks you can try using socialoomph.. the pro version is just $30 a month.

It's not exactly designed as a total spamming tool the way tweetattacks is, but it can get the automation job done for a regular IM campaign.

You also get support for Google Buzz ... not a massive DB like twitter, but pretty effective at getting ranked in the 'updates' section of google search.
