Say I have a domain with 10 inner pages and I build links to all the inner pages at the same 100 social sites. Does my domain gain 1000 links (10 inner pages x 100 links), or does it just gain 100 cause the inner pages are all backlinked at the same places?

sorry, gonna bump

You can backlink to the same site more than once, assuming its a relevant site to your niche and you're not just spamming.
Google cant argue with quality, they will reward you for quality backlinks, even if they are from the same sites.

There are different ways to approach constructing backlinks, one can blast it with thousands of completely irrelevant backlinks that have absolutely nothing to do with your niche and google will move you a little closer to the top of the list. But these types of backlinks would have been created using one of the many softwares that allow you to do this.

My personal belief is that Google rewards you less for these low quality backlinks, the sort that are not universal blog posts that could be shoved in place of any comment on a blog and count as a backlink.

If you were to take the time to comment on blog that has content relevant to you niche and contribute some relevant content to that site that links to your site, not only do you get a quality backlink to improve your SE ranking, you are likely to get visitors to your page via the link posted in your comment. An obviously spammy comment will be ignored or glanced over at best by everyone reading the responses.

You dont get a better ranking simply because there are more external links pointing to your site, the quality of those links counts a great deal. Its pretty easy to determine how to create quality links, just think about what would happen naturally. Which is why we use different anchortext and it pays to post different but relevant comments on multiple sites. This appears very natural to google and so you will be rewarded with a better page rank.

100 quality backlinks beats 1000 piece of shit backlinks everytime.

hmmm, so goodle more like quality backlinks than spam, junk, or low quality backlink
if i use auto submitter, or auto backlink, it will count as low quality ? :(

btw thanks to explain :D

Quality links will always outperform crappy or spam links...

Search google and you will see only no of backlinks doesn't guarantee you rank on 1st page... you can always find sites with more backlinks then top 10 sites still on 5th or low pages.

Not saying auto links not works but nothing can match manual quality links...

Define a 'quality' backlink? I only use social bookmarking sites and some article sites because they all have PR and they want your links. Not quite the same at forums and blogs I don't think where mods are on the watch for you.

A quality backlink is a link that appears in a context that is relevant to your site. The Anchortext of the link is (or contains) the keyword you're optimizing for.

But thats not all, because it is also import what is ON the page the links to you. If its only a linkfarm (even a relevant one) the quality is low.

A good thing to determine whether the page, that gives you the backlink, is valuable, is to check if its ranking for the keyword or a closely connected keyword.

So regarding your technique (article directory) i would rate it as higher quality than blog comments (for instance).
