Instagram account login activity location on mobile proxy

Been using mobile proxies on Instagram, although explore feed and reels toggled on nearby is located to where I want but the device login location is far off. Anyone knows why?

Real phone iPhone, shadowrocket, used whoer and other sites to check my ip and dns they are right. As I said the explore feed and reel nearby is my targeted location just that device login information is different.

Yeah, I don't have any experience with iPhone but on Android I do so when that happens, usually it was because of the proxy app was leaking.

I've seen this with accounts on my computer using a phone as a proxy, it records a login location that's not where I am. I know it's not leaking my home IP because there's no way that would insert a strange location and this has happened even when my computer is physically disconnected from all internet except for the proxy phone, which has never logged onto my home network.

Anyway I haven't worried too much about it because instagram doesn't seem to care and knows where I'm supposed to be.

There are multiple ways IG checks your location, even if you used a mobile proxy and login was from somewhere else. Your device is still in the location you are in, so its easily detectable.

Yeah I know but in my case the location is not where I am at but somewhere else like @quietamerican mentioned. How do you bypass the "multiple" ways then?

No idea, I don't do that with them. I doubt there'd be a problem though as the ghost location is still in the US and same region/timezone.

So far I've only noticed it with a T-mobile MVNO SIM but I haven't done any strict testing as the accounts aren't limited from everyday stuff which is all I need them for.
