So i have a business that used to be a retail business, but i've taken it completely online.

so i don't want to just permantly shut the gmb because it'll put people off from ordering on the website,

however i want to delete the profile so that the shop isn't there anymore as we have left that place.

all i can find is to close it permantly however that looks as if my whole business is shut down, but it's not what we want.

I guess what you looking for is to remove it from showing on Google Maps? Source.

In GBP, you can only remove your management access or ownership, or permanently close which you already did.

Would this also remove the reviews for the retail shop? As I would like these removed also, it's a business I have purchased and the shop has past bad reviews it was struggling so I've purchased it and took it fully online.

I think so. As there is no gbp profile where will google show those reviews?
Would be a massive plus as it would get rid of 90% of that places reviews.

Would it effect the business rankings, I've been able to hit alot of 1 page rankings recently and it's the gmb that's effecting sales.

Other review sites are heavily in my favour. But them gmb looks poor especially as Google reviews now just seem to deleting all positives on it that I can get stick.

Deleting gmb might not affect your ranking a lot. but as you mentioned, I think if possible deleting would be a better decision, regardless of temporary ranking drop. At the end of the day it will regain its position but negative gmb affects branding image and ultimately low in sales.

Yeah its the negative gmb that's causing less sales, when I was able to invest in Google reviews and the rating up sales rocketed, but as Google started removing them keeping them up now for longer then 5 or 6 days is costing way too much in time. So the review rating just drops massively. Got 120 positive reviews removed in the last week, dropped back to a 2.9 rating. I'll them get it back up to 4.2 and same happens again... all reviews are paid around the world, but nothing sticks like it used to unfortunately.

I'm surprised Google hasn't suspended or marked the gmb as flagged as fake reviews. But maybe because all it's are scattered internationally I guess.

I think the way we've said is the way forward.

So, if the negative reviews are less in number like 2-3 then try to remove them. though removing reviews a lot costly. but if possible go for it.

otherwise as said.

and yes, this is funny negative reviews always stick :P

Looking at about 60 negs, it was for a retail shop that went into administration and couldn't fulfill orders so got a lot of flack, but I've bought it and turned it around and stripped it bare and cut costs and took it fully online only but these negs are an issue.

Tried all sorts to remove them, even going to point of drafting legal letters but googles legal process is court order must be issued in our local crown court to get the people's names and addresses of the negs so that we can issue them court papers. I know some people have a way of removing the negs but I've reported, flagged, sent defamation papers... the lot. Google refuses.

I suspect there onto the fake reviews and just playing hard ball, but won't put a notice on the gmb about fake reviews because they can't actually prove it as all the reviews are from international people from computers around the world, so they can't pin it on us. Just removes them all apart from a few that get through every now and then.
