Okay I guess trc-20 version of usdt has lower fees, yes? But I have harder time finding wallets that support it, there are some, but yeah. Is it possible to exchange between erc-20 and trc-20 versions? How?

Also where the hell to buy tether gold and how tf to add it to a wallet... Use add custom coin option?

It's not hard at all to find wallet that support Trc20
Meta mask support it
Trust wallet support it

Add linux to it and I actually had some problems.

Metamask supports it? I tried this on linux/firefox and couldn't find trc20

For erc to trc conversion, may be receive the money in binance and send it out to a trc20 wallet. There has to be a service that accepts your erc20 usdt and send you trc20 usdt, so I don’t think you can avoid that fees associated, or sending it to a third party.

For a wallet that supports trc20, try tronlink. Worked fine last time I tried.

Tether gold I am not sure.

For any newbie questions you have on anything ask AI completing your question telling it to explain it like you're 5

Cute xD

Maybe should explain like I'm 20 at least, so it'd say where to buy shiny virtual thing, rn basically said what I already know, adorable still.

I basically can't see tether gold / xaut fuckin anywhere, usdt is everywhere but have to use workarounds else it's erc-20.

@Salamouna bro, google, reddit literally shows me trc20 *isn't supported* on Metamask, isn't it so fun to post inaccurate information and then try to roast someone saying how easy it all is. Apparently it isn't if you also got it wrong.

@Gogol thank you

ps you will need some trx in your wallet though. Otherwise you won’t be able move money from trc20 network. So, send a bit of trx too along with the usdt.

The last time I used an exchange to convert $100 worth of USDT TRC20 to Litecoin or Tron, it took $4 in transaction fees. Might be cheaper if not exchange.

My 2 cents.

You can change from erc-20 to trc20 easily and free with any exchange or Bridge (It cost something) is you dont want to use Exchanges.
I use tronlink from years ago for trc

TRC20 is hardly the cheapest chain out there these days, they’re only cheap if you’re staking using TronLink to earn Energy/Bandwidth to make x amount of transactions free every 24 hours.

If you’re looking for cheaper chains try looking into BEP20, Base, ARB, Polygon - all of these have both USDT & USDC available.

In terms of Tether Gold, try looking up the CoinMarketCap page of the token, it should list a bunch of CEX/DEXs that have available pairs for you to buy.

100% Agreed. I'm using BEP20 for the past few months. Negligible fees <0.1 cents whereas TRC costs like 1-2 $.

How do you actually buy this? I'm having problems, tried buying trc-20, Binance almost doesn't even have that much money on p2p exchange in my fiat currency (PLN / polish zloty), which is just silly, are people only transfering couple hundred here and there? There was only 1 dude that had the amount and it didn't let me proceed with the transaction, I don't know why. Can't click it. Not sure if different country/continent (I moved) from my id's and bank's country can cause problems? Tried to buy straight from the wallet on Ramp Network but they don't allow prepaid cards and I only use bank transfers and prepaid card with this account, I don't have a physical card. When I check bank transfer option it shows 'failed to fetch quotes from all providers'. How to buy? It literally won't let me buy, trying different places, kyc (at least stage 1) passed.

Edit: trying to buy polygon version of usdt, wallet redirects me to sardine, won't even let me check Poland as nationality when registering. Seriously? How people buy? Whatever I click it won't let me buy.

Yes, TRC-20 USDT has lower fees than ERC-20. You can swap between them on exchanges like Binance or KuCoin. For Tether Gold (XAUT), buy it on Bitfinex and add it as a custom token in your wallet.

Metamask supports it. So you can use that.

If you open an account on Binance, you can buy, sell, and trade any kind of USDT right from their trading terminal. It's super easy to deposit and withdraw your funds. Oh, and by the way, they also have Tether Gold! Just ask their support team for more details on how to swap between different tokens.

I ended up not buying because they couldn't handle a bigger transfer in fiat currency that I wanted to use. I mean, maybe for couple hundred or couple thousands fiat it works but it was such a nightmare to buy/convert bigger amount so I gave up. Idk how people with slightly bigger amounts function.

Think of it like having a special bank for big spenders. These platforms handle huge amounts of money, so they can offer better rates and services. You can convert your money to almost anything, from cash to crypto, with just a few clicks. Places like Coinbase Prime, Cryptomus, and others make it easy to manage large amounts of money, but you'll need to verify your identity first (KYC/AML).
