Hello guys, long time no see, and I hope you are all doing well.

I used to post tons of making money ideas and valuable experiences on this forum, and I want to share one more today.

I dug up some old items in my basement and found some old images and my old Canon printer.

But this is not a regular printer; this printer helped me make a total of $100k+.

The story goes like this: I was 16ish, and I was watching YouTube and saw this new Canon Selphy printer that would print HQ real-size images sent using Bluetooth.

This was my first business investment ever; I ordered this Canon printer from the USA and paid something like $270 in DHL and custom fees alone.

I live near some popular tourist destinations, so I decided to get a tripod, my phone, and this printer, and charge people 4 Euros per photo by the famous Church in the nearby city; I would even steal my mother's car and drive there with my friend to do this.

This Church is really famous, and thousands of people visit this place every single day.

The first day we went there, we set everything up, and people started passing by; we would offer images to people using some catchy sales lines like; Get a picture with your girlfriend/kid/lover/mother... in 2 minutes (it took 60 seconds for the printer to print it out).

I remember we used to prey on couples and people with kids because they really liked the idea of having a physical photo; we explained to them how everything is digital today, and it's great to have a memory that you can frame in your living room.

We sold around 50 images in the first 3-4 hours and made 200ish Euros.

We went there every day for the next 7-8 days until the large bus and a tour guy arrived at the location. The tour guide was curious about our business, and we explained it to him.

The tour guide explained how he usually had a tour of 30-50 people every single day, one 6 am tour and one 6 pm tour (that's when church ceremonies took place), and we made a deal that we would pay him 20 Euros per group if he leads them to us and explain to them what we do.

20 out of 30-50 people from each group would buy our Photo, and we would make 50-60 Euros per group.

Then we realized there were many more tourist guides around, and we contacted each one with the same offer, and 8-9 more agreed.

We started making 400-500 Euros per day from tour guides alone + 200ish extra from random tourists.

As I remember, printer ink was really expensive; our ink and photo paper expenses were something like 30% of our total income.

We made around $10,000 in our first month using this setup 3-4 hours in the morning and 3-4 hours in the afternoon.

40 days went by, and someone reported us to the Church security, and they sent us home. We tranfered our setup to other locations and kept taking photos.

We made around 100k using this printer, and I can't really remember why we stopped doing that. My guess is that's when we started our Web agency. (this was 10ish years ago)

You can still make tons of money, or at least some funds in case you need $1-2 for your initial online investment.

Huge + would be if you live near some famous tourist destination where you could easily implement this.

Investment: an average phone (everyone already has a phone), a Canon printer, and a $10 tripod.

I hope this helps someone make their first buck!

This is the printer we were using (it's running on battery, and it's wireless)

Good method but I don't like the idea of pushing and forcing people to take an image if they say no it's a no.

Many people(foreigners) at popular landmarks at my place do this and it tarnishes the image of the country.

Goes to show, just copy a business model that is already working and do it

Well look we never forced people to do anything because they are passing by, we would just offer it and if they are in a Maybe zone we would try and convince them, we were basically kids.

Got caught by those photo-printing hustlers myself once. Was it you behind the scam, OP? :suspicious:
May or may not be JK this was years ago.

Well my apologies. When you word prey I thought you meant doing this way. The most popular scam is they take a picture of you and force you to pay them it's crazy. Insane hustle if you did it when you were kids, basically a lot of money :)

By prey I mean were our target groups, because people with kids, young couples and older people were the ones who wanted to bring a memory back home.

Most of them were tourists who spoke Italian and Spanish so we had to learn 10-15 words of spanish and italian just because most of them did not speak English.

Nice hustle for a 16 year old. Love to read these kinda stories.

That was an amazing hustle. I've seen these photo guys all around the world. Some send the photos by post, instant printing made you a hit.

in Italy if you try to do something like this they will put you in jail in 5 minutes because of the tax evasion you create with this method

This is BlackHat forum bro

And you probably never went to any tourist place in the world where people sell photos, glowing sticks, remote control kid motorbike rides, handmade bracelets and 1000+ other hustles.

And I live 3-4 hours drive from Italy and I know what happens there too so..

Thats right, 60 second print was a game changer.

This should be posted in the How to make Money section for newbies looking for ideas.
