[My YouTube Journey]: Developing a new APP

I recently realized that getting Youtube organic traffic is extremely difficult and using a bot is extremely risky. So I had a bit of a brainwave - what if I build an app that allows people to view each others videos for coins / credits which they in turn can spend towards having their own video watched, liked and commented upon.

I will be documenting my journey here as we develop the app, getting our first users onboard and so forth.

Now I am aware that similar services exist, but we intend on offering more value per view than the competing apps in the form of coins per action. It's a balancing act of note, so watch this space as we develop (hopefully) a valuable new resource that is not focused on making money, but to actually help people get exposure.

Edit: (My Background)
I run one of South Africa's largest ISP's and as such we have an extensive amount of unused server resources at our disposal. (We have around 40% of our total available capacity in the form of IP's, Server Clusters etc that is unused at this point). My thought was to give people extra views on all campaigns in the form of Bonus Views using VPS machines that will "watch" their videos. The VPS views will be strictly limited to Bonus Views, and with over 5000 IP's at our disposal, we can rotate these constantly. Normal Views will be real human views only. All Subscribes, Likes and Comments will be real humans too.

Yes, we will have a VIP account that will allow people a flat 30% discount on the coin cost of a campaign, the removal of daily watch limits (how many videos people can watch per day) and a few other perks which we are yet to decide on. Ultimately we are not in it for the money, as people without VIP will be able to play up to 150 videos per day.

When a user wants to setup a campaign, they will be able to choose how many people they would like to watch their video as well as for how long. Anything from 45 seconds to 700 seconds.

Your thoughts, feedback and insight will be extremely valuable to us as we embark on this journey and hopefully make a few $ on the side whilst offering users the best value.

Adding an Additional Social Network, maybe Instagram: Views, Likes Comments

Bots:

We have a built in mechanism to detect and block bot traffic. Eg, if a user uses an Android Emulator to run the app etc etc. This will lead to an immediate account restriction. The goal is to have Real Traffic for Normal Views.

I remember seeing a free app or website like this a few years ago. You’d earn coins by watch, like, share, comment, follow, and repost on TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X. Then, you could use those coins to get the same interactions on your own accounts. Some people just make bots to farm coins and sell them to new users.

I doubt that it would be expensive just to get some real views.

Great question. The app will force you to watch the desired number of seconds. If you do not, you will not receive your coin credit for that view.

Update #1:
We have now setup a server to host the backend admin panel and it is working like a charm. The backend allows us to manage all aspects of the app: user management, coin management, VIP management etc.

Now that this phase is done, we are fine tuning the app itself building in controls. An example of a control would be forcing users to watch x amount of seconds before awarding the coins, bot detection etc.

We have also built some packages into the App that will allow users to buy coins if they want to give their video a boost. We have made sure to set pricing well below the market average for real user interactions as to allow people to get their video infront of the eyes of real, registered Youtube users.

Our mission is to be bot free. Many apps allow bots to run multiple instances to beat the system. Our app will detect this and issue a user strike and warning, 2 x strikes and you are out,

Advertising:
It's great having an app and all, but we need to get as many people using it as possible, so we are exploring the best advertising avenues to find users. Of course BHW is on top of our list as I think there are MANY members here who could benefit from such an app. We are also toying with the idea of Telegram Ads. Telegram allows you to advertise in public channels, targeted to the actual channel itself. We will find channels that align with our desired niche and load ads into these channels.

Version 1 solely focuses on Youtube. We want to get it right.

Version 2 - This is where we will incorporate another Social Media Network. Deciding on the one that will be the most popular is the difficult part. We can literally integrate any, but we want to integrate the most valuable network. We are currently leaning towards Instagram.

The Ultimate goal is to have one app that has it all and covers all Social Media Networks. I have a dev team of 3 x very talented individuals working on this project and they are gems.
