How hard is it generally to get to the number one spot for this type of low competition? Thanks.

It is normally really easy to rank in the top 10 and not hard at all if you know what you are doing. It really depends on what your competition is doing though.

the question should be how easy it is
200K is pretty easy enough for a decent BHer to rank #1 in very short time
but again it also depends on the kind of strats the competition is doing
if theyre dumb in SEO then you got yourself a goldmine
if theyre BHer too, good luck

yea its not hard to rank high for any term if you are good and use basic white and black hat techniques for seo.

******** comments, inbound links, social bookmarking, etc etc. all work

Site sniping (white hat seo) has worked pretty well for me in those low competition keywords. If my competition is a smaller player, I will employ a little keyword squatting too, especially if some of their other keywords are prime.

I'd say 1 month with a old domain.

2 weeks with a old domain with the keyword

you can hit 200k pretty easy and quick, i normally target 1M and below with a fresh site, and will hit top 10 within 1-2 weeks..then usually bounce between 1-5 for a few weeks before finally settling in a consistent 1-3...just do your research on the top competitors, you would be amazed at how many markets are just sitting wide open, with the admins knowing jack about seo (white or black)

i usually start with the overtired article marketing for shit terms, and then take advantage of various free blog networks and feeds, then see where i stand and if i make a penny then i'll start serious link building hehe...if it's a good earner i go white, if not i turn shady, and pretty soon all you can see is my eyes and teeth, and maybe the white top hat that contrasts my skin.

1-2 weeks for 1 million result on a brand new domain?

I must be doing something wrong ;)

is easy:P i got top 1 for some search term in less then 2 weeks on a new domain:P mmm now competition is mmmm "from 180 000 000 results" lol

so for 200 000 is easy just read in this forum.. develop work a little and go go go:P

then take advantage of various free blog networks and feeds

What do you mean by feeds? Post articles with links to your main site on free blog networks and then submit the rss feeds of those blogs to rss directories (feedage, etc.)?
