Seeking Advice or Direction with IM

If anyone has any pointers I'd appreciate it.

I promoted dating offers for a decade and made some okay money, enough to pay the bills. I created wp blogs and just updated them with content daily, got lots of links to them, got SEO traffic and bookmarks, and kept grinding.

That niche is slowly dying (if not almost dead already) and I'm looking to try something new. I don't have any programming experience, but based on previous IM experience an authority site would fit well into what I have done in the past.

Trouble is, we all know "G" changed things and everyone is saying that the blogging, or big site game isn't what it used to be. Ask PhilReddit.

I'd like to be able to make $100k/year at some point. I've started some small sites to sow some seeds and all are performing poorly.

I have one recipe site that is unique (in terms of the category of recipes it offers) that is getting 20 hits a day with 50 recipes on it. It is unlike all the other recipe sites out there that have endless spam everywhere (mine doesn't have ads yet), and has my own twist/style added to it. Is that something worth pursuing?

If not any suggestions? I'd love to get some ideas and see where I can point myself as try to start anew. Thanks.

I ran a recipe website/s and was pleasantly surprised by the results.

The only catch is that you have to keep it updated with fresh posts, new keywords, and consistent optimization.

Recipes are something people will always search for, so I would recommend going for it if you're ready to put in the effort.

If you have a good friend, one of you could handle the writing while the other focuses on optimization, which might make things easier and more efficient.

And the great thing about recipes is that you can run a site in your own language, where even those with basic SEO knowledge can beat the competition.

I did it with one of my new sites, and it worked out well.

There’s always a solid amount of search demand for recipes in every country, and a lot of the competition is run by older folks who have zero knowledge of SEO, link building, or anything like that.

In my country alone, I know some people making solid 4 to 5 figures just from their sites.

Some are even killing it solely on YouTube, racking up millions and millions of views.

It’s definitely a space with untapped potential if you know how to leverage it, for those willing to 'invest' at least a year or two of their time.

Boost it with SEO, and the real key is consistency, staying active is absolutely the key!

Continuation is a must if you want to see long-term success in this space.

That is the only 'problem', the only drawback is the time it takes if you’re handling everything solo.

Besides blogging, I was also creating videos for YouTube and TikTok, plus images and clips for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest (recipes do great there), and Twitter.

I built up a decent following on each platform, just by testing things out.

Anyway... It's definitely worth considering if you have the energy for it.

You might even want to start a Joint Venture here on BHW and share the workload, it could be a win-win!

What do you want to achieve? Identify your target audience: demographics, interests, pain points.

There is still money in blogging. You have the capital and experience and this continue with same. The probability of success with any new niche is almost nill.

So are you saying that recipe sites generally have poor SEO and that by focusing on optimizing I could outdo a lot of my competitors? Also, what do you consider 'optimization'?
