How does Omegaindexer index check work?

They have option to check if link is indexed but I have never seen this. They use something with http://webcache.googleusercontent.com.

is this a legit method to check index?? Because if I use site: to check index often they are not indexed there

I think they use the indexing API and 301 redirect from their own cheap domains to your URLs

G knows about indexers and index checkers, so there are lots of reasons why they would limit people from abusing that particular search dork. Most index checkers will use a combination of methods due to this.

The script checks if Google has indexed & cached a particular link. Don't believe it will crawl and index a link submitted though.

Not necessarily indexed & if they're not they won't appear in Google search,
using "site:" is the only way to find out about indexing,
it will not even work with some pages with php parameters in the url, u'll need to use "inurl:" with these or a combination of "site:" and page title/content

Web cache is used to determine whether a link has been crawled or not. If crawled, there will be a date and cached version available.

The presence of a website on the web cache means that the website has been indexed by Google, but the display of that website's content on Google search will depend on Google's algorithms.

sometimes you get an indexed status but the page will only appear to a small portion of users, hence the difference in siteperator

Basically to check if the URL is indexed you need to perform 4 kinds of searches:

1. Webcache mentioned above

2. "your_url" in brackets

3. inurl:your_url

4. site:your_url

You'd be surprised how randomly Google shows the results. But if any of these queries shows your UR in the results, it might mean that it's indexed (not 100% though)

oh I read more about that and it's not deprecated, it was completely removed says danny on x


also I checked the info omage indexed is sending and they are able to show "crawl-66-249-72-xxx.googlebot.com" the Googlebot IP and name, not sure how they are using this info
