Any number of reasons such as community guideline violations, or anomalous login patterns/ account activity can get your shadowbanned. There's no solid list for it or how exactly to avoid it, it's mostly intuition.

It is rather weird that they're not transparent as to why you get shadowbanned exactly. No email or notification with the reason of infraction or anything comprehensive like that. Then again, when most of your moderation is done by bots, no one can be bothered to actually look into it. They'll just assume the bot was in the right, unless the user reports a false-positive.
exactly omg! the stress of wondering and endless overthinking what i did wrong. those bots should be examined carefully lol.
Just to play devil's advocate, you kind of see why it's difficult to have human users go through each and every single shred of content. I'm with you though, there has to be a better system that this. The current, "you have to report the issue of being wrongly flagged" is a bandaid-solution rather than anything possibly long term. Hopefully progress will be made there as it goes on.
